Chapter Text
"Tenemos todo el tiempo en el mundo para hablar!" Quackity smiled, ruffling Pepito's hair.
We have all the time in the world to talk.
It was correct, realistically anyways. He didn't understand where he was, or even what was happening. Yet he knew one thing, the time he would be here would either be, or feel like an eternity.
"So Pepito? What have you been up to?!"
Pepito smiled up at Quackity, his big brown eyes lighting up. He hugged his stomach, he had grown significantly taller since Quakity had last seen him. "Apa I missed you." Pepito whispered, tears dwelling in his eyes.
"I missed you too, kiddo." Quackity laughed, voice shaky from trying to hold back tears. "You've done so well, and have gotten so big!"
For a moment, his troubles disappeared. Maybe more than just a moment.
He felt as though the world itself, the overworld and all its inhabitants and trouble were erased. Like it was just a fever dream. He could pretend that the world itself was just a dream he made up in his head, only him and his baby existed. His child, Pepito.
"Come! Look at my dog!"
"Aww, Pepito, I didn't even see him!"
Pepito pointed to Quackity before he spoke. "What have you been up to apa?"
"Me? You wanna know what your old man has been up to?" Quackity felt tears forming in his ears. "Not much you know? You kept me going, not much has happened. I did meet some new people which is cool." Quackity let the dog warm up to his scent.
Quackity suddenly felt off, he felt something strange inside him. As if the energy had shifted, the air's buzz was different.
"Brother."
Quackity heard a familiar voice in spanish, one he didn't need to hear. He turned around to the door. He pulled Pepito behind him and took a breath.
"How are you here?" Quackity asked ElQuackity. "I thought this was some sort of limbo or separate world, what are you doing here." He felt his heart pace too fast for his liking. A bittersweet pain filled his chest seeing his brother be kind.
"You're correct, smart as always brother." Elquackity leaned on the door frame, crossing his arms. "They put me to sleep or something don't worry about it. Choose someone, and I'll bring them here. I don't know for how long but it'll be for a while. Anyone at all, as long as they're alive right this second."
Quackity thought about who he'd want to be with one last time. Who was the person he wanted to show Pepito one last time. Or even for the first time. Then he second guessed his brother. He was a fed, why would the federation do something like that for him, after everything?
"Why should I trust you and the federation?"
Elquackity sighed. "You're my brother at the end of the day. After some asking around, we have the technology and tools. Cucurucho is better than you think."
"If this isn't a trap, if this is really true..."
"Yes, it's true, pick someone the quicker the better."
Quackity's mind raced, who would be the one person he wanted to see the most? In the entire island. He thought about his list.
Colmena? No, he wanted to save her but he wouldn't spend his final days with her. Pepino? No, federation workers were the last people he wanted to see. Roier was a maybe. However, he didn't think he was the last person he'd ever want to see.
He narrowed it down to two people. Jschlat and Multi.
He couldn't pick, but he knew he wanted someone but couldn't have both. Deep down he knew it was going to be Multi. After all, Jschlat was always doing his own thing.
Quackity admired that. He was always off doing his own thing in his own place. He was uninvolved from the rest of the island. Sure, that made him a little more awkward around everyone else. Not to him though.
For some reason, for some reason he seemed a bit more open to him than the other islanders.
He couldn't help but think to himself. He sometimes wondered if they'd known each other someplace before. Elsewhere than the island. It seemed like it, but he just didn't know where.
"If you're stuck on your decision I can come back later." Elquackity straightened himself up.
Quackity looked at Pepito, then at Elquackity. "Can you bring me y-Dr Young Multi? Otherwise known as Needyourblood." Elquackity raised his eyebrows, then nodded.
"He's a federation worker too but alright," he murmered then began to speak louder. "I'll see what I can do. Bye bye brother." Elquackity stepped outside and mumbled a few things, before Quackity knew it, he was gone.
"Apa, no me acuerdo de ningún Multi, quien es?
Dad, I don't remember a multi, who is he?
Quackity pat his head, heading to the couch. "Es alguien que nos conocemos bien pero más recientemente." Quackity put his head on his knees. "Bueno hay que ver si enserio viene pero tal vez no."
He's someone I know well but met recently.
Well we have to see if he really comes because he might not.
Quackity was almost sure he wasn't coming back after a few days had passed. However, after he had basically given up hope, and after him and Pepito put together a garage, there he was.
Dr Young Multi.
The radiation coming off of him had an alarming glow, there was almost an aura to him that Quackity never noticed. Maybe he had gained it in time, but Quackity had spent too much time around him it faded into the air. His hair was slightly in his face. His eyes were a bright green, brighter than ever.
Quackity felt Pepito at his legs as they both crept their heads out the door. He knew Multi was going to see them any second. He wanted to call out but nothing would come out. Multi turned around, beginning to face the house properly. Their eyes met as Quackity made his way outside.
"Pepito, ten cuidado por qué uno nunca sabe lo que puede pasar," Quackity warned. "Is it really you, Multi?"
Pepito, be careful because you never know what can happen
Quackity looked at Pepito then back at Multi. Pepito looked anxious, Quackity put a hand on his shoulder. He took out an extra sword and handed it to Pepito. Multi stepped closer slowly.
Is it really you? The one I've been waiting for? Is it you? Have my prayers been answered? Or is this another fucked simulation.
"Quackity? It's me! Is it you?" Multi said, walking towards them cautiously. He held out a hand, Quackity gave a hand to him reluctantly. They stepped closer to each other, Multi held out his other hand and Quackity did not hesitate this time. "It's you." Multi let out a whisper, his eyes softening from worry. Quackity let go of one of his hands and looked over to Pepito.
"Pepito, it's him!"
Pepito ran to them and waved at Multi. "Hola! Soy Spider Pepito!" Pepito stood up against his dad's legs while waving. Multi smiled, he could tell Multi didn't want to disappoint Pepito telling him he didn't understand spanish.
"Pepi, el no habla español." Pepito looked confused as he looked at Quackity, then at Multi. Quackity lifted him into his arms and looked at Multi. "He said hi and that he's spider Pepito. His name is Pepito." Multi smiled faintly at him before trying to form a sentence in spanish.
"Hola, yo m-me llamo Multi, s-soy? Soy amigo de Quackity."
Hi, m-my name is Mutli, I-I'm? I'm a friend of Quackity.
Quackity laughed at the broken conversation they were having. Pepito joined in his father's laughter as Multi turned a light shade of pink. "I speak English," Pepito laughed. "Hello Multi!" Pepitos smile could light up a room. He was always such a bright child, and a kind one too.
"Hey Multi, you don't know how good it is to see you." Quackity said, going to hug him as he put down Pepito
"Tak, of course but where are we?"
His smile faded as he began to explain. "I couldn't tell you, I don't even know myself. I just found Pepi here. Oh, I forgot to tell you, you know the eggs that we had on the island, the first one? He was mine." Quackity patted Pepito on the head.
"But he is not an egg?"
Quackity gave a smirk towards Pepito, who looked ridiculously pleased. Pepito shifted from a person to an egg and back again.
Multi was speechless as he watched. He didn't know such a thing existed until that moment. Could Nacho do that? Multi thought back to his family. The thing he desired and loved most. Them and Quackity were on mostly the same level. His partner in crime and the person who helped his research the most. The person he had counted on the moment he knew he could.
"Do you like Spider-man?" Pepito tapped on his side and looked up at him.
"Uh Spider-man is okay, I guess?"
Pepito gave a sigh and shook his head. "Are you apa's best friend?" Pepito asked, looking at Quackity. Neither Multi or Quackity had ever thought about being best friends. But realistically, who else would be their best friends? Quackity isolated himself from tons of the islanders and Multi didn't place his trust into anybody except Quackity until recently. They were both outcasts according to the islanders but they were still friends.
"Yeah, I guess I am."
Quackity chuckled, "I'm suprised you know what apa means. Hey Pepito, do you wanna show him your house?" Quackity leaned down to say, before looking at Multi again.
"Si! This is my house, I built it by myself!" Pepito cheered, almost stumbling over the end stone floor.
Multi had began admiring the structure and the small details. A picture frame caught his eye, it was him and Quackity. It couldn't have been taken more than three months ago. He picked it up slowly, it was sitting in a nice frame. Swirls surrounded it and shapes that made the frame look detailed. Multi had one that looked exactly like it in the reactor, only his held a picture of Katie and Nacho. It wasn't his frame though, his had a scratch on the side from the Cupcake knocked it over. This was did not have it.
"Multi."
"Yeah?"
"Your eyes turn green sometimes, I forgot to point that out to you on the island," Quackity said, running a brush through Pepito's hair. "Pepi, stay still. Also Multi how'd you get here. Did they do some experiments and stuff to get you here?"
