Dying To Love

Summary:

Your relationship with Leon was strong until one day he gets assigned to a mission for an unknown length of time with an agent you are not very familiar with, Ada Wong. Paris is a long way from home and him going with another woman makes you nervous. Especially one who seemed dead set on trying to steal your man away from you. How will you and Leon be able to salvage your relationship and fix your trust issues? With jealously and misfortune seemingly around every corner, the two of you will really have to test your limits and fight harder than ever before if you want to stay together.

Notes:

Imsovain: What started off as a fun little writing activity between my beloved mutual Bleedingrose0688 and I eventually turned into an entire fic that I absolutely fell in love with and couldn't resist sharing with all of you! This never was intended to be posted publicly but with how much creative work went into this, I found it too good to just keep it hidden away in Google Docs forever. Neither of us have worked on a project this big in a very long time and I hope you all enjoy it as much as we do. This is honestly one of my most favorite fics I have ever written and first one I have ever co-written as well.

We both took turns writing this entire fic; I'd write a part then send it to her and she'd pick up where I left off and we would continue until we eventually created this entire story for you all to read. If you're wondering who wrote what, feel free to ask! This project was so much fun to create and we hope you love it as much as we do! We will update with a new chapter each week (or sooner). Thanks for reading!

If you want to follow my writing, feel free to check out my works and/or subscribe to me. Or if you want to contact me directly, that can be done on my Tumblr, ims0vain.

Chapter Text

You moaned while Leon pulled out, “Ohh Leon…” You purred and Leon just sucked in a breath. “God, I fucking love when you say my name like that…”

You bit your bottom lip and kissed him, shoving your tongue down his throat. “Fuck me again, Daddy?” You pleaded, grabbing at him.

Leon groaned, feeling you up but his face twisted in disappointment. “I’m gonna be late, and so are you-“

“So? Call in sick. We could do this all day…” You teased, lust in your voice. “God I’m so glad we moved in together, we can do this whenever we want.”

“God I fucking want you-“ He growled and you pulled him back on top of you.

“Ugh, I can’t- I’m sorry baby- We can pick this back up later I promise.”

You whined but ultimately agreed, “Promise?”

“Only if you walk me to the door…” A gleam in his eyes and you obliged, following next to him.

He walked out the door after putting himself back together but kissed you deeply before he left. “See you later, Doll. Love you.”

“Love you too, sexy…” He smirked at the nickname and walked away to his car in the garage.

You watched, more like stared extremely hard at your boyfriend. God he had a sweet ass… And that Porsche, it was so fucking Leon… So dangerous, so fast, ultra sleek and sexy, it screamed Leon S. Kennedy.

You went back into the bathroom after he left to get ready but couldn’t focus, the smell of his intoxicating cologne filling the air, it made you drool. How’d you get so lucky? Your head was spinning; you couldn’t wait to get back home after work. You definitely wouldn’t be able to focus today.

Leon Sexy Kennedy; he was yours. All yours.

“Jesus Christ Leon! Haven’t you ever heard of post-sex showers?”

“Fuck you, Ada,” Leon rolled his eyes as he walked past her desk towards the Director’s office for a briefing on his next mission. “You’re just pissed that I get laid more often since we moved in together.”

He watched Ada wrinkle her nose and shudder before continuing on his way for his meeting. Minutes later Leon found himself standing outside of his boss’s office; knocking he heard a faint “come in” and entered the room.

“You’re being sent to Paris for your next assignment. Intelligence is reporting that Umbrella may be operating under a new name and have restarted their experiments on the T and G viruses. I’m sending Wong with you; destroy the facility and anything that tries to stop you. If you can, get a sample of the viruses, we need to find out if these are the same ones as before or if they mutated.”

“Does it have to be Ada, ma’am? It can’t be Claire or-“

“It’s Paris, it’ll be more believable if you went with Ada. Besides, you treat Claire Redfield more like a friend than a lover.”

“How long?”

“Until the job is done. I don’t care if it takes you a week, don’t care if it takes six months. You and Wong are staying until the job is done. Start packing.”

Leon got up with a heavy sigh. He’d rather be spending six months in Paris with you than with Ada but he couldn’t exactly tell his boss no since it seemed like this mission required the best agents they had.

“And take a shower, you reek.”

The hours ticked away and soon Leon found himself parked outside the house you shared. Tonight was date night, you begged him to go somewhere fancy that would force him to get dressed up and while he had been looking forward to tonight he also had to tell you that he’d be gone for a while.

There you stood in the most elegant dress he had ever seen. Black silk, form fitting, with a plunging neckline and a pair of strappy black heels to match. He bit his lip when he saw you, memories of the last time you wore heels and the filthy sex that followed.

“Hey Daddy…” You purred and he felt his cock instantly get hard. Tonight was going to be difficult. “Get dressed.” You encouraged, while Leon placed his hands on your hips and kissed you.

“Fuck, you look sexy…” He growled. He knew exactly what suit he was going to wear and knew you’d go wild over it. You loved when he got dressed up.

At the restaurant he wanted to avoid talking about work but he knew you’d ask and of course you did. “So, how was work today?” You took a sip of your martini and smiled at him. “Think about me?”

He smirked, “Sure did…” His voice trailed off. He had to tell you. “Listen angel-“ He said, grabbing your hand, “I have to go away for my next mission…”

“Where?” You asked.

Leon’s heart sank, “Paris.” He knew how much you had been wanting to go there and he watched as disappointment washed over your face. “Oh.” You said.

Your eyes fell, “How long?” You asked then added, “Alone?”

Now Leon knew this was about to get even harder. “Umm, until the job is done. And no, they’re sending Ada with me.”

You frowned, “What?” Your tone was laced with disbelief, “You don’t know how long you’ll be gone for?”

Leon felt all the emotions hit him as he shook his head. “Could be a week, could be six months…”

Your jaw dropped, “Six months?” You felt tears welling up in your eyes but you pushed them back.

“It won’t be six months, I’ll make sure of that-“

“But you don’t know-“

The table fell silent. You drew in on yourself while he watched you; this wasn’t going as planned. “Who is Ada?” You questioned. You had seen her name on his phone a few times but never really thought much of it.

“One of the other best agents we have. It’ll be fine-“

The waiter then came with your food, setting it down in front of you and asking, “May I get you anything else?” He waited for a response when he looked over to you and asked, “Another martini?”

You downed the rest of it, setting the empty glass on the table with a thump and said, “Keep them coming.”

The waiter left with a nod and Leon tried to salvage the situation, “Smells good.” He said but you were in no mood. You didn’t want to admit that you had lost your appetite.

He wished he had said nothing and waited until the next day to say anything to you about Paris. Leon watched as you pulled away from him the longer the night wore on. And sex? Forget about it, not happening, at least not right now. Your mood was soured and he couldn’t really blame you for being upset.

“Who is Ada? And don’t say she’s another agent either. Why her? Why not someone else instead that I know?”

Leon loosened his tie as he focused on the road in front of him. This was going to be a tougher conversation than he anticipated but he didn’t have it in him to lie to you about Ada.

“She’s another agent who’s saved my ass more times than I can count. If I get sent on a mission and I don’t check in when I’m supposed to, they send Ada. Think of her as my babysitter. And the director wants it to be her because for whatever reason it’s Paris and it has to be believable that we’re together.”

He watched your nostrils flare, yeah definitely not getting laid tonight.

“I don’t like it any more than you do and you have to believe me when I tell you that I tried to request somebody else for the job.”

“Didn’t try hard enough if you ask me.” You muttered under your breath, forcing your eyes to look at the landscape that rushed by.

You marched into the house when you got home, tearing your heels off and tossing them on the floor. The dress was next, stripping in the middle of the living room and leaving it in a heap on the floor. The slam of the bedroom door was next and when he went to the door, he found your diamond necklace lying on the floor in the hallway. He picked it up and sighed, entering the room. He found you curled up under the blankets in bed crying softly.

“Sweetheart-“ He started, stripping out of his suit and crawling in next to you. You moved away from him when he tried to put his arm around you.

“Why Ada? Why! And what is this that it has to be believable that you’re together with her?”

“Honey, listen-“

“No!” You screamed, “You don’t even know how long you’ll be gone for! And now you get to experience Paris for the first time with her!” You sat up abruptly and turned to him whipping around, “It’s supposed to be me!

Leon’s heart sank, “I’ll take you-“

“No! Fuck you, I don’t even want to go anymore!”

Leon sighed while you sobbed. “Baby, I’m sorry, there’s nothing I can do-“

“Quit! I’ve begged you before, it’s too dangerous for you to keep going anyways! This is too much for me-“

You buried your face in your knees while you pulled them up to your chest and cried uncontrollably. Leon was torn, he didn’t know what to do. There wasn’t much he could do, so he just held you and eventually you gave in and sobbed into his chest.

There wasn’t anything Leon could say or do to make things better between you, not right now at least. He did promise to take you to Paris one day but he’d just have to figure out another place to take you.

If you even wanted him after he got back.

“This is too much for me-“ those words echoed in his head all night and well into the next day. Leon was upfront with you from the beginning that there were going to be parts of his job that you flat out weren’t going to like. He was afraid things weren’t going to last much longer. To make matters worse, he had never introduced you to Ada in part because Ada worked more than he did but also because he knew how you would react.

Sure he might’ve had a thing for her at one time but nothing ever happened. Ada crushed any hope Leon had a long time ago.

But a woman’s jealousy wasn’t something that could be overlooked. Leon didn’t have enough time to deal with your jealous feelings; he’d have to deal with everything when he got home. Unless you decided to leave him a Dear John letter and walk away from him entirely.

You were fast asleep in his arms when the sun began shining into the bedroom. Leon gently placed your head on the pillows and pulled the blanket over you, pressing a small kiss against your temple. He then went into the bathroom for a quick shower then to the kitchen to make himself a pot of coffee, maybe a couple of pieces of toast.

You were awake, thinking, pondering. You needed to go to him.

Leon heard the bedroom door open, he knew you were up. He turned around to face you when you entered the kitchen. “Morning angel.” He said gently. “Want breakfast?” He asked and you shook your head. It was starting; your depression. He was worried; what were you going to do while he was gone? Not eating or sleeping would only last so long.

You sat down at the table, laying your head down on your arms. “I don’t want you to go…” You muttered.

“I know, I’ll make it quick.”

Your eyes flickered up to him, “You don’t know when you’ll be back, stop lying.” It hit Leon in the chest. You were right but he was going to try his damnedest. “What if I lose you?”

He shook his head, “You won’t.”

“Can I even talk to you? How will I know you’re ok?”

“I’ll try as much as I can. You can call the DSO too, they’ll give you updates.”

You sighed holding back tears. “Why can’t it be Claire? At least I know her; at least I like her…”

He knew Ada was going to be an issue but there was nothing he could do. They needed the best of the best and Ada was better than Claire. “I want to spend today with you, before I leave tomorrow.” He said softly, scooting a chair next to you. “Let me make you something, I’ll stay with you all day, wrapped in my arms if you want. I just want to be with you.”

You looked at him, tears falling from your eyes.

He was quick to wick them away, pulling you into his arms, letting you cry into him as much as you needed to. After several minutes you pulled away, your features weary, tired.

“Can we stay home?” You asked meekly.

“Sure. We got that pot roast sitting in the fridge, what do you say we throw it in the crockpot and forget about it until dinner? We’ll watch all your favorite shows and movies. Whatever you want to do.”

As much as you detested the idea of Leon having to be gone for an unspecified amount of time you agreed to spend the day with him, at home, soaking up as much time with him as possible. You really hoped that he’d be gone only a couple of weeks and not six months; half a year without Leon would feel like an eternity and you weren’t sure what Ada was capable of.

The day you were dreading finally came. Leon would be leaving soon. He made sure to pack overnight while you were asleep because he knew it would only trigger you more and he didn’t want to do that. He had been on missions like this before but it had been many years and well before he had met you. He felt like shit while he quietly zipped up his bags so he wouldn’t wake you and crawled back into bed with you.

You woke up, “Leon?” You whimpered, eyes fluttering open. It wasn’t time to get up yet, you still had more time but the realization hit again.

“I’m here baby.” He whispered, pulling you close to him.

You snuggled into him and he realized that he didn’t know the next time he’d be able to do this again. It made him feel sick to his stomach. He never usually had uneasy feelings about his missions but this one was hitting harder than normal. He was actually dreading leaving, and he didn’t know why. Probably because he didn’t know when he’d be back.

Sunlight came streaming through the blinds and it was time. You were both up and you were shaking while Leon felt like throwing up while he loaded his Porsche. You were in the garage and you really started to take everything in. The details on his car which you loved, it was so him. The way he smelled, how his stubble was such a mix of different colors; brown, blonde, and some white mixed in here and there. You memorized the features of his face and the way his hair fell over his cheekbones. The blueness of his eyes and just how tired he looked. The fear that sat hidden in his eyes, the fear that he thought he had suppressed but you could see it. The way his muscles rippled under his shirt and just how many weapons he had on his person. You even saw Requiem and when you saw that gun, you knew he meant business.

You stood there, the inevitable drawing closer. It was time. You looked up at him and him down to you. “You still have time, please don’t go…”

Leon looked like he was going to break down but he didn’t. “I’ll be quick. You won’t even know I’m gone.”

You knew he had to go and it was unfair to ask him not to but you didn’t care about being selfish, you loved him with everything you had. More than you had loved anyone. “Come back to me, Leon.” You whispered, hands coming up to his neck.

“I will, I promise.” He replied and kissed you deeply. “I love you.”

“I love you too.”

He had to do it, he had to go. And it was the hardest thing he ever had to do in his entire life, leaving you behind. Once you couldn’t see his Porsche anymore, you went back in the empty house. This was your life now; silence.

Little did you know that you wouldn’t see your boyfriend for a very long time…
