Chapter Two: Pretty When You're Mad
You tell yourself you're not jealous. You tell yourself it doesn't matter that Choso still sees her at The Hallow Vein. That they laugh together. That they look like they understand each other in ways you don't. You tell yourself you trust him. So why does it feel like you're losing something every time he walks into that place without you? The argument starts the same way it always does: sharp words, hurt feelings, pride getting in the way. It ends with him outside your window in the middle of the night, demanding to be let in. And somehow, between fighting him, pushing him away, and trying to not fall apart, you realize you were never really trying to keep him out at all.
