Summary
It’s cold out. Mid-November. He has a stupidly oversized jacket on, his hands jammed into his pockets as he tilts his head up and squints at the sun, snow in his hair. Looking at him, Zoey realises she’s dressed like herself. She’s wearing one of her own shirts, a pair of her own pants, a jacket Mira bought for her, and shoes Rumi got her on her birthday. Zoey is wearing their necklaces, but they used to trade those all the time.
She’s wearing her wedding ring from this last forever. She has a necklace with theirs hung on the end.
Jinu nudges her with his elbow. “Light’s red.”
Zoey follows along blindly, her eyes stinging with tears. She thinks she might be able to pass it off as the cold breeze blowing against her face if she’s lucky, but she just...
It’s so beautiful outside. It’s so beautiful and Rumi and Mira aren’t here to see it with her. It’s so beautiful and she would have never known.
