In the aftermath of the Android Revolution, Connor isn't doing well. He's feeling emotions for the first time and has no idea how to handle them; is completely overwhelmed by the utter abundance of decisions to make on a daily basis; constantly assaulted by unpleasant physical sensations; and there's also this other, much more embarrassing and annoying issue that keeps coming up.
Add to that feeling incredibly out of place among his own people and all he wants is someone to help make things better. Hank wouldn't mind right? They're friends? All Connor needs is someone to help him out while he's figuring out all these new emotions, and help out with his decision making process, and thinking things through on his own and-
Oh. Well that just kind of sounds like growing up, doesn't it?
