p>You are Orpheus.
You are young and you have naught but the lyre in your hands and the melody in your soul. Life is hard, for everyone who walks the surface.
Despite this, you see the world, as shadowed and hollow as it is, you see it differently. You see it bright, you see the hope and light returned to the land–as it was once before and as it could be again.
And so, along with the lyre, you have a goal.
The world is broken, unnatural in a way that should not be permitted. You know this in your very being, so you vow that you will fix it. You will bring harmony back to the land, bring it back to how it was.
You wander the land, following the hints of a melody on the breeze, working tirelessly to write your song. It is work, but a work you relish in. A difficult task, to be sure, but one you enjoy.
But one day, everything changes.
