Chapter Text
The morning light shone through the big windows, gleaming prettily off Shadow Milk’s hair.
His hair looked a bit like the night sky when all the eyes inside were closed in slumber. Maybe it was weird that Pure Vanilla was watching him sleep, but he couldn’t bring himself to wake the other yet. He just looked so peaceful when his mask of indifference was gone.
Pure Vanilla glanced at the clock and decided that he should at least start getting ready.
He stretched his arms above his head and yawned. He was still a bit sore from the ‘activities' that had commenced the night before. It had been a while since he had been close like that with Shadow Milk, both physically and with his feelings.
He slid out of bed, yawning again, as he began tossing his stuff back into his suitcase and his garbage into the trash can. At least the room was decent enough to be left. Minus the bed, but nobody checks the bed, right?
He went into the bathroom and dragged a brush through his hair, appraising his naked figure in the full length mirror.
His hip and collar bones were still sticking out way too much, but he seemed to have gained at least a few pounds. Or maybe it was just wishful thinking and he had some kind of disorder.
There were some almost-healed scars on his arms, but they weren’t as bad as the fresh marks from the other’s teeth and claws. The use of Shadow Milk’s claws were usually a big part of why Pure Vanilla liked to fuck him so much, but he would come to regret it in mornings when he had somewhere important to be.
Like this morning.
Sighing, Pure Vanilla turned on the shower and stepped in, letting the water rinse away the evidence of what had happened the night before. It would be better if nobody knew that Shadow Milk was there.
It was kind of funny how easily he had fallen in love with the other. Well, Shadow Milk was easy to fall in love with, that was proven.
He turned off the shower and stepped out, wrapping a towel around himself to get some clothes.
Walking back into the main room, he glanced at Shadow Milk, who was now awake. Or, at least Pure Vanilla thought that he was awake, there was a pillow on his head to block out light that wasn’t there before.
“Vanilly?” Shadow Milk mumbled, pulling the pillow away, “That you?”
“Yeah,” Pure Vanilla grabbed his inside-out bodysuit from the floor and began to detangle it, “I need to leave in ten minutes, so get ready,”
“Five more minutes,” Shadow Milk groaned, pulling the pillow back over his head.
Giving up on the bodysuit, Pure Vanilla reached over to pull away the pillow and toss it in the corner. “Nope, you have to get up. I don’t want you to get in trouble with the Consul.”
“Ughhhh,” Shadow Milk groaned and cracked open an eye to glare at Pure Vanilla. “You’re lucky that I love you enough to not argue.”
He sat up and stretched his arms above his head. The sun reflecting off of the scars on his torso caught Pure Vanilla’s attention, and he looked away quickly so as to not be rude.
“Am I too much of a distraction for you?~” Shadow Milk asked as he noticed the other staring. He tucked his hair behind his ear and bit his lip in a proactive way.
“I can’t take you anywhere,” Pure Vanilla sighed, slipping on his clothes and tossing the ones that Shadow Milk had left on the floor back to the jester.
Shadow Milk pulled on his shirt and got up, stretching again, “I suppose that you want me to leave…”
“Well…” Pure Vanilla sighed and threw a few more things in his suitcase, “not to be rude or anything, but you technically aren’t supposed to be here.”
“I figured,” Shadow Milk threw a random article of clothing at Pure Vanilla and opened a portal beside the bed.
A knock came through the door and Pure Vanilla’s head snapped over to it.
“Your majesty, your attendance is requested in the Convocation Chambers.” A voice came through the door.
“Of course,” Pure Vanilla called back.
He rushed forward to press a quick kiss to the other’s mouth.
“See you tonight,” he said, already rushing back towards the door.
“I’ll be waiting for you in your room,” Shadow Milk smirked, floating through the portal, “don’t be late.”
