Chapter Text
Martin was walking home back from work. He was exhausted and it was super late. He had stayed up trying to finish up a track that he needed to submit pretty soon. Pulling all nighters was part of the job, he doesn't usually mind it, but sometimes he does wish he could come home at a reasonable time.
It was almost a full moon and the streets shined from its brightness. Martin loved nights like these where he could stare at the sky.
He thought he could never find anything more beautiful than the stars, the moon and the night sky.
He entered his apartment building, pressing for the elevator. He got inside and pressed the number 4. He walked out and was immediately met by a really small creature.
"Meow!" The small black cat greeted him purring so loud and gently brushing his whole body against Martin and asking him to pet him.
Martin chuckled and started playing with the cat. "Are you a stray? Or maybe lost?" He asked the cat, as if it will answer him.
He wondered if maybe this cat belonged to his neighbour who lived 1 level below. He has a cat, he seen him once holding a cat traveling box, probably to get his cat to the vet and so. He would've knocked on his door and asked, but it was 1am.
Martin looked at the little creature, he didn't have the heart to keep him outside so he just grabbed the cat gently and went inside.
The black cat got excited. He happily entered Martin's home, sniffing everything and also rubbing himself on anything. It made Martin smile.
My god... how can something look this adorable?
He noticed the cat now beside his feet and meowing a lot. He looked at him puzzled, but then realised that he must be hungry.
"Uh-ha! Okay, give me just 5 minutes let me grab you some cat food." Martin said gently, stroking the kitty's head.
He heads out to any store open this late, thankfully there was one close open. He goes inside and scans the pets section. He grabs one that looks decent and goes to pay.
Soon enough, he goes back to his apartment. He was greeted by the cute kitty immediately.
"Look at you adorable boy... wait you are a boy, right? " He said scratching the back of his head. "I think you are. Anyway! I got you a little something." He goes on and shows the kitty the food. He brings a small plate from the kitchen and then puts the dry food.
The kitty starts eating fast. "Woah, slow down tiger."
Martin sighed in comfort. "Guess it's just you and me buddy."

Martin woke up with feeling a little weight on his chest. He slowly opened his eyes to find the cute black cat sleeping on him. Martin smiled and started stroking his beautiful fur.
He got up, did his usual routine then decided to feed the cat his breakfast.
"Look at you." The blond boy said giggling softly. "Here's your food, little one."
After a while, Martin went on with his work. Today he decided he's working from home on this track, he needed to be alone to get in the mood. Well, not entirely alone considering his little friend here.
He looked at this cute cat and started imaging his life with a cat. He would always find someone to kiss and hug, he can even vent to the cat. Sure, it won't understand him but it'll sit and listen and that's enough to be honest. But on the other side, he logically shouldn't keep it, cause then the kitty would be left alone most of the time and that's just not good.

Some hours passed and he decided to go and knock on his neighbour's door to ask him if this cat belonged to him.
He knocked and waited, while the kitty was just purring in his hands. It made the blond boy giggle.
The door soon after opened, revealing his neighbour in a plain white tshirt, jeans and messy hair. Martin would be a liar if he said he's not effortlessly attractive, but not like he'd admit that out loud.
"Hey, I'm your neighbour, Martin. " Martin started, noticing how his neighbour was already glancing at the cat he's holding. "I saw this cat last night and was wondering if maybe he's yours or?" He said nervously, why was he nervous though?
"It's not mine," The neighbour said. "My cat is orange. "
Martin felt stupid to say the least, but oh well how could he know?
Martin chuckled nervously. "I had no idea." He whispered looking down at the floor. "But thanks either way!"
"Wait," The neighbour said quietly. "What are you gonna do with him?"
Martin scratched the back of his neck and glanced at the small kitty. "Will probably keep him till I find someone who can adopt him," Martin said with a sigh. "Even though I really wanna keep him, he's just so cute."
"Adoption? Why not just keep him?" He asked curious.
Martin exhaled, "I work long hours, it'll be unfair to just keep him alone."
The neighbour nodded in understanding. Few moments of silence passed so then Martin said his goodbye and was about to leave.
"Wait!" the neighbour said, again, obviously a bit embarrassed. "Well... how about I keep him with me till you're back from work?" The neighbour suggested, looking at the purring black kitty. "Like a baby sitting type of situation. "
It definitely took Martin by surprise, he did not expect that at all. "It sounds nice, but I get off work pretty late." Martin explained, his cheeks a bit flushed. "I'll be waking you up, wouldn't I?"
"I work till late too, but from home. It shouldn't be an issue." He stated. Martin looked at him, shock apparent on his face.
"What if the cats don't like each other?" Martin asked genuinely, cause that definitely could happen. Then it'll be just an unpleasant experience for everyone involved here. Not like Martin is finding excuses for this little situation, it was the he opposite. He has tried to get close to this neighbour before, but failed as he's the reserved kind with few words. Martin thought he looked cute, a bit familiar as well.
The neighbour scratched the back of his neck then opened his door wider. "Let's find out." He said, already going inside and signaling the taller boy to come inside too.
Martin didn't react fast, but he eventually walked in inside. The apartment filled with cat drawings all over it. He had a huge library and a big section of it was just for children's books. The blond thought it looked pretty cool.
A beautiful orange cat had appeared, purring and walking around his owner. Martin let go of his black cat and both cats noticed each other. They walked towards each other slowly and carefully.
After sniffing each other, the orange cat, who's older started licking the smaller cat, who enjoyed it. Martin smiled brightly and thought they just looked very cute. He brought out his phone and started taking photos.
The neighbour noticed and chuckled. Martin heard and glanced at him with a small smile.
"By the way, what's your name?" Martin finally asked, he's been wanting to know his name for so long.
The neighbour looked at him, face slightly red. "It's Juhoon."
