Chapter Text

C00lkidd woke up with a cry. Jolting forward into a sitting position, cold sweat formed on the boy’s skin as he let out heavy, shaky breaths. He had been playing in a forest at the back of their house, when he had gotten tired and fell asleep. Then, he had a nightmare. This wasn’t the first time he’s had one, he got them very often actually. But this one was different.

In this one, C00lkidd had dreamt of hurting his dad and his friends. He dreamt of making them cry and look at him in ways he never wanted to see again. He dreamt of his clawed hands wrapping around their necks as they cried, causing a sickening crack that followed immediate silence-…

He dreamt of a very long and scary nightmare, the worst he has ever had. Tears were still openly pouring down his cheeks.

He wiped the tears and snot off his face with his sleeves until his skin was raw. “It’s okay,” he whispered to himself, recalling what his dad would tell him during the nights he’d wake up sobbing, “It’s just a nightmare.”

No matter how bad it was. It was all just a bad dream, and that was all it would ever be. He didn’t kill hurt anyone. His dad was alive safe and waiting for him at home.

Speaking of,— His puffy, red-rimmed eyes look up to see the warm sky peeking past the green foliage. —he should be getting back now. The sun was almost gone, his dad didn’t like it when he got home late.

C00lkidd slowly stood up. After patting the dust off his hands and clothes, he turned to the path leading to home and began to speed walk through the bushes.

He imagined his dad — Waiting for him right outside the front door. Tapping his foot and checking his watch every few seconds, a prominent crease between his eyebrows from constant worry. — then hastened his pace. He was uncaring of how the prickly ends of the plant scratched and irritated his skin. All that mattered to him was getting to his dad. C00lkidd didn’t want to make him worry any longer.

And he didn’t want to see his dad sad. Not ever, not again.

007n7 sat on a chair just outside the office as his foster parents and case worker spoke inside. He got in trouble again. This one was the last straw for his foster parents. He anxiously fidgeted with his hands, trying not to listen to the muffled voices of adults as they talked about him. Unfortunately it didn’t work. Nothing could overpower the voice that spoke sharp, cutting words.

“We can’t do this anymore. 007n7 can’t stay.” His foster mom said curtly.

“Now, Mrs. Euwn… I understand you want 007n7 transferred out of your care, but on such a short notice—”

“No. Persi is in the hospital! If my husband hadn’t gotten there in time, who knows what would have happened. 007n7 is dangerous. I don’t want him anywhere near my home.”

007n7 stiffened. His shoulders raised up to his ears and his short nails scratched his hand, leaving red marks and tiny indentations on the skin, if only to foolishly distract himself.

‘It wasn’t my fault.’ he wanted to say, but no one was there to listen.

The other kids were the ones who started it! They were being mean to 007n7 and kept pushing him around even though he told them he didn’t like it. So he pushed them back, how was he supposed to know it was going to cause them to fall down the stairs? He was just defending himself.

He had tried telling this to their foster parents when they had come in to find his foster sibling lying on the bottom of the staircase. The other children had pointed their fingers at him, calling him a liar, which he wasn’t! Their foster parents didn’t believe him. They shielded the others from 007n7, looking at him with wide eyes filled with disdain as if they couldn’t believe what they were looking at.

007n7’s pleas had fallen deaf on ears, and they drove straight to the foster center. Now they were going to give him back.

“If you saw the state that poor child was in you would understand. That boy is a monster!”

The continuous scratching caused 007n7’s fingernails to break skin, drawing a small amount of blood. He stopped. It stung. But that was the last thing on his mind.

A monster. 007n7 sniffled. Those words hurt far more than any wound.

He couldn’t bear to listen to this any longer. With a flick of his wrist, a familiar panel shows up under his hand.

h4xxing in pr0gr3ss…!!1! was on the black surface, a gradually filling progress bar right underneath.

They were going to get rid of him. 007n7 might as well do them the favor of doing it himself.

h4xx3d!1! At the same time the white text showed, 007n7 was out of the suffocating office and now stood outside the building. He didn’t waste time and ran off, going as fast as his little legs could take him.
