Although that, technically, doesn't apply in this case, but. You get the gist. You have been EXILED from your home on PROSPIT / DERSE for being a HUGE NERD, presumably. As a citizen of the dream kingdom, you are, of course, a carapacian, a humanoid with a shiny white / black exoskeleton covering your body.
You are now inside a meteor on a collision course with SKAIA. Before you can reach the surface, a SKAIAN DEFENSE PORTAL opens in front of you. As you enter, you feel something...
Something like an itch.
An itch you need to scratch.
In this split second, You are split in twain. No, not physically. Physically, all involved yous are fine. You are split between two universes, ALPHA and BETA. We will start with the perspective from BETA. Trust me, this will all make more sense in a few hundred pages or so.
Below you sits a vast desert, infinite in size. Before you, sitting in the gold sands, rests an oasis. You soon find yourself in EARTH.
Your meteor crashes into the sand, dust billowing into the sky. You are caught off guard stepping out into the sand, your feet sinking in. It's hot. Above you, the sun shines bright. This is the only place in miles where you can find life. Above, tropical birds caw. A massive lake formed from a crater sits before you. A cool, sandy breeze brushes your carapaced face. You have a feeling it's going to be a long day.
