100 years after the Second War, the High Lords, and High Lady of Prythian, along with leaders from the Human Lands, gather every 5 years in an assembly known as The Great Gathering. Tensions among humans and Fae have been increasing, as attacks along the boarders show that perhaps their two people cannot coexist peacefully.
Ivy, the daughter of High Lord Tamlin and Lady Alba of the Spring Court, loves her people dearly. She will do whatever is needed to help her family, her people, and the Spring Court thrive.
Nyx, the Prince of the Night Court, is content commanding his legion in Illyria. His father and mother are now asking him to step more fully into his role as heir.
This is a story about politics, love, loss, and what two Fae who love their people will do in order to see them thrive.

i just realised i didn't bookmark this when i read it, and that is literally a sin. this has become one of my favourites, hands fucking down—one of the fanfics that kind of just irrevocably imprints itself inside your head. stories like this leave me in awe of the creative, loving minds of authors on ao3. i can't really explain why i love it entirely without spoiling (for those who are reading this on my bookmarks tab), but i can say that i really think that the wonderful person who wrote it truly understands their characters, as well as the canon ones. and is a fucking genius. i love their original characters sooo fucking much phew, and the whole span of this story honestly feels like a published book. genuinely profound, artful work. makes me so happy 🫶🫶 thank you for sharing this story with us, and for free at that 😭 xx
