Daniel is flopped on the couch in the living room, doing what the kids call ‘doom scrolling’. Usually Armand would have scheduled something ridiculously random for them to do, like a free seminar on the history of tap shoes or a chili cook-off. However, tonight, Daniel’s beloved companion had asked to stay home as he was working on some sort of computer project.
Daniel was a little embarrassed to admit that he was horribly bored without his companion, even for just a night. Just then, the doorbell wrang. And guessing by the sound of a dolley being wheeled away, it was a package.
With nothing better to do, Daniel heaved himself off the couch in order to pick up the package. He’d only been able to take two steps when Armand came barreling out of the office, socks sliding on the hardwood in a way that made him look like one of those cartoons where the character was running so fast that they weren’t moving. The immortal iPad kid almost knocked over the coffee table and several potted plants in his bee-line for the front door. The door was thrown open and package scooped up into greedy arms.
When Armand turned back, Daniel could he him smiling like a maniac and laughing like one too.
“What’s got you so excited?”
Armand was quick to grab a kitchen knife and start cutting the tape on the box in precise motions. “A gift!”
Daniel came to peek over his lover’s shoulder. “From who?”
“This guy on Youtube … I agreed to make a video with him and said he’d send me some merchandise as a thank you.”
“Oh yeah?”
Armand just nodded, too excited about his prize to speak. He pulled out a green shirt with a bunch of square-shaped character heads on it, a blocky bumblebee stuffed animal , and a light-up stick .
“Is this all Minecraft shit?”
Armand shoved the items back in the box and made a swift retreat back to the office, shouting over his shoulder, “No comment!”
Daniel was so in love that it was surely causing him to lose brain cells.

Armand could admit that it was his idea for him and Daniel to get dinner with Lestat and Louis while they were in town. He’s not sure why he would ever think that it was a good idea, but he’d like to believe it was something along the lines of playing nice for Daniel’s sake while his beloved was working on his new interview.
Regardless, the dinner had happened and it had been what someone with a PhD in English Literature could only describe as a complete shitshow.
Defeated, sitting in the back of the car on their ride home, Armand decided to have a scroll through Twitter. He opened the app and saw a notification saying he’d been tagged in a post by Daniel.
He opened the post in question.

A photo was attached. It was a selfie taken from a high angle, with Daniel’s blurry forehead in the foreground, and behind him, Armand could clearly make out himself, Louis, and Lestat yelling at each other in the restaurant.
“Daniel!” Armand launched into a play attack on his lover, who was sitting next to him.
Daniel only cackled in response, proclaiming, “Finally! My vengeance for that ugly ass picture you posted of me!”
