Syrene was smiling softly at Yukong as they both sat down in a booth by the dance floor watching the other dancers as syrene was tapping her foot in time with the music that was playing as she leaned against Yukong.
"Are we just going to watch them or join them Yuko?"
Syrene's voice was soft and sweet as she gently grabbed onto Yukong's hand gently rubbing her thumb over her wife's knuckles.
"Stelle was sweet enough to invite us to penacony even if she didn't need too"
Syrene laughed as she gazed at the dance floor squeezing Yukong's hand as her ears twitched at the sound of the music being played as syrene placed her head on Yukong's shoulder.
"It's just been so long since we last danced I don't want"
Yukong sighed voicing her worries turning her head towards syrene but got cut off when she felt syrene's soft lips against her cheek making her heart thump, even after being married for decades her heart still beats like when they first got together when they were both young foxians.
"It wasn't that long ago Yuko it was two weeks ago"
"Two weeks? It felt longer"
Yukong turned her head and gazed into her wife's golden eyes which still held that brightness from when they're was younger. Something that Yukong loved about syrene.
"That's because you've been busy with work love"
When Yukong heard her wife's words she felt guilty like she had been neglecting her wife she knew syrene understood that Yukong's work can be hectic but she couldn't help feeling guilty. Yukong looked down at their intertwined hands not wanting to meet syrene's eyes she doesn't want to meet her eyes.
Syrene cupped Yukong's face and made Yukong look at her again as she smiled softly at her as she rubbed Yukong's cheek with her thumb in little circles then brushing her lips against her cheek again softly letting her lips linger on Yukong's cheek.
"I can practically hear your thoughts Yukong don't feel guilty you've been working hard and I love you for that"
Yukong couldn't stop how her tail wagged faster nor could she stop her tail from flicking against syrene's tail but it couldn't be helped she just felt happy being with syrene.
"I love you too"
The two foxians woman kissed each other softly and smiled at each other as Yukong just kept kissing her wife's lips and enjoying how her wife laughed after each kiss Yukong held her wife's face in her hands as she placed kisses around syrene's face wanting to hear more of her wife's laughter something that always brought a light to Yukong's world. Syrene was Yukong's light, her beacon.
"So Yuko care to dance?"
Syrene held a playful smile on her face as she held her hand out to Yukong who gladly took it as they both joined the other dancers on the floor. Yukong spun syrene around softly keeping her hand on syrene's waist rubbing circles on her waist with her thumb as she smiled softly at syrene.
"How we're dancing tonight reminds me of our wedding night"
"Yes but on our wedding night we had a little fun"
"Syrene"
Yukong scolded her wife but she couldn't help but smile and rolled her eyes at syrene's words and laughed as she brought syrene closer to her wrapping both her arms around her waist as syrene wrapped her arms around Yukong's neck.Yukong sighed happily as she pressed her forehead against syrene's as they just swayed along with the music now closing their eyes just basking in each other's presence the music had gotten quieter the two didn't know if it was because they were focused on each other or if it's because the music had changed.
"We really needed this didn't we?"
Yukong sighed out opening her eyes again to look at her wife, she felt a lot better from tonight she just felt tired from last two weeks of work and how much she dearly missed her wife.
"You did need it maybe it's why I decided to persuade a certain general, a diviner and the trailblazers for you to have a break"
Yukong looked shocked at her wife's words as pulled her head back staring at syrene in shock, love and pride.
"How did you manage to do that?"
"I have my ways"
Syrene winked as she smiled mischievously as Yukong just shook her head smiling fondly.
"You are incredible"
"Thank you Yuko and you're incredible too"
Yukong dipped syrene as she pressed her lips against hers and laughed when the dance came to an end as they curtsy to each other.
"Thank you for the dance syrene I love you"
"You're welcome Yukong and I love you too"
Both of their tails wagged happily as they just smiled at each other as they walked off the dance floor walking hand in hand as Yukong gazed lovingly at syrene who was resting her head on Yukong's shoulder smiling and laughing. Yukong kissed syrene's head softly letting her lips linger against her wife's head then placed her head against syrene's.
