i sit and wait for you (although i know you're gone)

Summary:

So he allowed his lover to leave, to enjoy his life. Grian was supposed to call or send a letter. Something to tell Taurtis he was okay.

Grian had stopped a few months ago.

Again, Taurtis understood. He was an ex lover, and he had willingly let him go.

But it still hurt.

Aka
Taurtis misses his lover

Work Text:

Taurtis opened the door to his apartment, the opened window at the wall across from his door lighting up the whole room. He half expected Grian to get off the couch and hit him with a hug, the moon shining behind him. He signed, closing the door.

He knew deep down Grian was gone.

The ravenette respected Grian's decision of leaving, of course. He agreed that their bond wasn't as healthy as it should be. Taurtis knew that his signature blue sweater sometimes caused a half awake Grian to panic when he saw it in his closet, and the fact Grian would never let Taurtis drive him anywhere. If they went on a date to the movies, or going to the mall, Grian would always be at the wheel.

He understood why Grian left.

He would have left too.

But it still hurt.

It made him feel selfish, to a certain degree, but it hurt to realize that Taurtis was causing Grian pain. He knew it wasn't his fault, and that he didn't know half of what Sam did to Grian, but he knew enough. Enough to realize Grian needed a break.

Taurtis had suggested the idea to Grian one night during the commercial break of a movie they were watching.

He hadn't expected Grian to agree.

Taurtis sat on his couch, coke (as in the soda lol) in hand and flicked on the TV.

He tried to distract himself from the empty hole he felt in his heart. Taurtis knew he was waiting. Waiting for his lover to come back home.
