He doesn’t know how long he’s been sitting here he always knows. The ashes have long since settled, or drifted away. He knows how it happened. Shiva honoured his father brother and she has his respect for that. But he still hates her. Grayson was the one to show him that he had a choice in this life. And he is trying with everything in him to respect his choice and hers.
But all he wishes for now is a hug from his baba.

She has known Shiva for a very long time. She has also known Richard Grayson since he first became Robin. Talia knew, realistically, that she would see him die. Heroes don’t last. But she hadn’t expected him to be good. When she had shown up at that funeral, she had seen heroes and villains. Everyone. This was a man who had brought everyone together at his funeral and had thought that no one had been there for him in life. Someone who had defeated her own father, who had inspired a world of heroes. This was a man who had won over her son so thoroughly that he called him baba.
She wishes that he could have given her the words for Damian.
