Chapter 2: Burn It

Notes:

I'm so sorry it took me a while to update this.

But I'm back on it.

This is just a warm-up. We learn something about Park Jimin that was unexpected. (Believe me, it was for me as well. It just happened out of the blue.)

Anyway, I won't say anything else. I'll have to go with Into The Wilderness and Ganymede - again - next. Have fun!

Chapter Text

That night, Jungkook didn’t sleep. He didn’t think he would be able to even if he tried. Not when he had gone upstairs to his Sister’s room without thinking much.

An instant impulse had almost gotten in his way, pushing him to turn around and head for the room that smelled more of Comforting Jasmines instead. But persistently, Jungkook had denied the Solace - and to further daunt the Little Omega like this.

He had to get this over with - tonight. The sooner the Chapter got to close, the better. His Sister’s body was buried six feet under. And it was time to do the same with the rest of her Residual Soul. Her Ghost had to go too. He owed it to her to let her go. It had taken him weeks to realize it - to accept it. But now, he knew what he had to do.

He had to say Goodbye.

The one that meant Forever.

And he had to mean it. He had to feel it. And it had to hurt - the way only a Lost Love did. He had to tear up the wound to stitch the flesh back together. That was how it was supposed to go.

The Atmosphere in the room wasn’t helping. There wasn’t anything left of her in there. The bedroom was spotlessly clean. Nothing could trigger his emotions. Perhaps, it was because he had them so well hidden. The kind of Life he led could do that to a Person. Jungkook achieved to stay away from her for all these years only because of the lack of them.

It was also because he was used to living a Life without her. Her constant absence had become his Habit and, eventually, his Reality. It was a comfort to know that she was okay and Happy. It was enough for him.

Now, he couldn’t even pretend she was somewhere better. She was away into the Unknown. Gone. And he wasn’t the type of Man to believe in Fairytales. It would’ve been nice. He was tempted. Up in the Clouds, she had a New Life - Painless and Free. He would like to believe in that - in that Heaven. But it wasn’t something he could see.

In those five years, he could see everything. Her Happiness and Welfare were right there, tangible in photographs. They were inside those walls, inside this Home. They were in the pictures his Men would get for him secretly. He could see her. He could feel her there on the same Earth.

Now, he couldn’t feel her. She was Unreachable like a Star. Was she like that right then? A Bright Star? An Immortal Angel? Was she watching? Could she feel his Coarse Impassiveness? Could she understand it? Justify it?

Could she forgive him?

Jungkook stood there in the middle of that bedroom, having those questions. Useless questions. What would he do about them? What Closure would forgetting her once and for all bring him? His standpoints were inflexible. If he were to bury her for good, all their good memories would go with her. He didn’t want that.

He merely didn’t want the thought of her to torment his Soul anymore.

But that wouldn’t happen, would it? Grief didn’t work like this. But he wasn’t grieving. That was the thing. He was fighting it. And he was strong enough to fight it all his Life.

He couldn’t go on this way when his mind was fixated on the Unfairness of it all. Yes, it was Unfair. And Painful. And Sad. But those things were only his Problem and Cross. Jia was Dead. She wasn’t feeling those things. She wasn’t feeling anything anymore. That was why the Hell was a Place on Earth for the Living Critters.

She was stuck in Nothingness. She had become Nothing - almost as if she had never been there. And his Cold Alpha was stuck in a state of the same Apathy to connect with her, to feel as non-alive as her. Though, he had to stop doing that. He had to move on now. Unlike her, he was very much Alive. And he had to do right by his New Double Load. The Two Little Omegas were his Responsibility now. And he had to live with his Choices - thoroughly processed and not. Jeon Jungkook was that kind of Man.

And as such, he pulled through. With or without tears, his Closure was a Promise to her: that he would take care of her Last Piece as if it was his own.

That Baby - kind of - was.

Jungkook’s Blood and Flesh and Legacy.

And that was something perceptible. He could see it in her Foxy Hazel gaze. Nali had a fragment of his Fire in her.

He wouldn’t give it up.

The notion of her Mother’s current supernatural whereabouts had to vanish instead. It was the only way to keep her Safe - her and the Omega Boy. They had to stay close to him, become a part of his World - be considered his.

The Past had to stay in the Past.

That way, he could keep them Protected.

And do better.

His hand positioned the picture frame of Jia and Nali in her arms back on the bedside table. He hadn’t realized he had taken hold of it until his every thought was arranged and settled.

The night had gone like that - with Wholehearted Promises and Bitter Regrets. It was his last time. He wouldn’t spend another night in pointless what-ifs. The scent he needed the most wasn’t coming back. The Baby that he had held in his arms, the Child that he had played with, the Woman that he had pampered - she wasn’t in those walls.

The Contrite Alpha went downstairs when the night was still young outside with defeated steps and life-changing decisions on his tired shoulders. His Scarlet gaze led the way through the dark, silent Home, feet eventually dropping him off on the couch in the living room - directly in the seat the Pretty Shy Omega had earlier abandoned.

He plopped down on the cushion that still smelled strongly of addictive Jasmines and sat there, enjoying himself for a forbidden moment to ease his muscles and scorched Soul. A drink would complete the scene ideally. But he shouldn’t with the Omegas in such a small range inside this Home. Not that he would lose control over himself or anything. It was more of an ethical obligation to the Burden he was supposed to bring up.

What an unpredicted turn to his, if anything, intense lifestyle. The Thirty-three-year-old Alpha closed his eyes, back and head resting against the comfy couch magnificently, allowing his contented bones to dream of no other alternative. The quick, spontaneous pleasures of youth were explosive and everything. He had experienced them all. He would drink and fuck, having the best of the best in everything he wished for. But he didn’t think he would have to let go of the stimulant effects in life that soon. He wasn’t sure he would like to. And he was convinced that he wouldn’t follow the norm even with his Tiny Niece by his side.

Nannies and Nursemaids could raise her for him - for all he cared. He didn’t have all the time in the World anyway. Hell, he wouldn’t have the time for Children ever. With his future ones - the plan had always been to help and participate in creating them. But that was all. His Role would end there. He had made up his mind long ago.

He had.

Truly.

Until the Spellbinding Jasmines upstairs were added to the picture. Until the Carbon Copy of his Sister with her Endearing Pneuma in her Hazel gaze had come to reenter his Life, reminding him of the Emotions he once had been Capable of watering.

Blindly, with his eyes still closed, head facing the ceiling - he reached and further unbuttoned his already satisfyingly open shirt, chest wrought up with daring ideas.

His Predominant Alpha knew it. In his every Atom, under the Faith in a God that didn’t exist, the Destiny in that Little Captivating Omega was burning, present, fresh - real, like a New-found Religion to a Godless Rover. That Lilliputian Goddess was as Enthralling as a hedonic night of Blood and Sin in his Underworld.

And Jeon Jungkook was never wrong.

Life had taken his only Love in that World. But he had also brought a New One to replace the Loss - a Different, Double Kind.

Jungkook would make time.

For Nali and his Promise.

For Park Jimin as well.

If only everything narrowed down to his every choice. If only the Little Omegas weren’t as confusing as a Forgotten, Lost Language to his Old Dormant Entity. Jungkook would’ve made it just fine with them.

But truth be told, approaching them was no joke. Chopping an Alpha to pieces seemed simpler to the Mafioso Lord. Cruelty would come to him effortlessly. Softness, on the other hand, not so much. It had been so long since he had last tried to be Approachable. And it wasn’t as if the two tiny Sweethearts weren’t being Cooperative. On the contrary, they had been nothing but Docile, Open - Reachable. Right there. Right across him.

Right within his clutch.

It was him the Problem.

The Tiny Pair was the Sweetest.

And Jungkook hadn’t expected the syrup from the Older Sugarplum that quickly - within a few hours from their heated conversation, right there, in the living room earlier that night.

The Sleepless Alpha was sitting in the same spot on the couch, Relaxed out of his mind with the heady Jasmines around him and under his skin. And he knew how he looked - nearly Comatose against the soft cushion, legs widely apart, head and neck hooked and thrown over the backrest, not a single thought in his brain.

But he didn’t have the mind to acknowledge it or fix it. The Ravishing Floral scent was assaulting his nostrils - pleasantly still - leaving him knocked out like that; an authoritative arm stretched out on the top of the couch’s backrest next to his head, the other resting on the armrest.

In the dead of the night, was it a crime to let his guard down there for a second?

It wouldn’t have been if it had only been for a second.

But it hadn’t been.

The lightest, drowsiest footsteps were sagging down the stairs behind him to his right. His Alpha wasn’t bothered to the slightest, unwilling to budge to the Prettiest Vanilla Dream. And Jungkook agreed, simpering to himself to the thrilling sensation of Incoming Jasmines. They were a structure of his tipsy fantasy, weren’t they? Good Little Omegas were in their beds at such an hour. Right?

Usually.

Not so much if they were tangled in unfortunate predicaments. No.

The Godlike Spirit halted right behind his Comfortable Figure, meters afar. More mind-blowing Jasmines invaded his air, poisoning his lungs - leaving him Numb and Trapped within the shell of his Drink Being. Without batting an eyelash, the Alpha maintained his rapturous bubble, allowing the Beautiful Mirage to stay right where it was. It wasn’t there for real.

Jungkook had - truly - believed that.

The Alpha had only started having doubts when the careful, soft steps were coming his way after their long and peaceful pause. And although their new movement upset the waters within Jungkook, he kept his eyes hermetically closed, staying unresponsive to the seductive entry.

The Floral Aura stopped again and lurked cautiously on its tiptoes, observing for a moment before turning away. The departure left Jungkook wondering whether he felt glad or disappointed. He didn’t get to organize his emotions all that well, though. Jasmines were back in the next heartbeat, heading with more determination toward him. And again, Jungkook didn’t know what to do. Should he stay right where he was, holding his breath and playing dead? Should he open his eyes and acknowledge the Provocative Jasmines?

Eventually, Jungkook went along with the flow. Like the Good Pup that he had never been - he stood at attention, waiting to see what the Little Witch was up to. His Alpha began to stir, Pumped with anticipation. That Little Thing was getting closer. And the realization delved itself into him. The Omega wasn’t forged from his dazed ravenous mind. He was coming, there - Real.

Something landed softly in his lap. The Omega had positioned a large, wooly piece of material across his thighs - a blanket? Huh? Was the Little Moon Deity that Caring? To Strangers? Strangers that pretty much had imposed their decisions on them at that? Oh, Jungkook needed to see this.

Treacherously, he opened his eyes to witness it all - to cheat with Holiness and fall far. He didn’t budge a tiny bit. He stared the way he knew he could in the dimmest room with a Subject of his liking hovering on top of him.

Unwarily, the Little Bambi minded his adorable, tender task at hand, unfolding the beige blanket to arrange it around him. His Alpha. Alas, how Jungkook was that Sweetheart’s Alpha.

The Little Saint merely didn’t know it yet.

All he knew was the threat of a heart attack the instant he was about to drop the blanket on the Wide Awake Alpha.

“Oh, Jesus!”

The Omega had jumped out of his skin, holding onto his crazed Heart for dear life. And Jungkook was almost sure he could hear his Heartbeats - aligning with his own. They were. Jungkook’s chest found the turbulent tempo and kept it up - his bubbly excitement.

“You scared me!” The Little Whiny Kitten accused, complaining. Endearing tiny fingers were still on top of his chest, protective of his Heart. Jungkook wanted to take them - lace them with his own and promise to bear the Role of the Protector for them.

He would.

“I thought you were asleep.” The Omega mumbled softer this time. For the first time, the Bad Alpha took the time to notice his sleeping attire. The Pajamas on him were ridiculously adorable with hearts and bunnies - pink and white.

How was he Twenty, looking after a Child?

Jungkook couldn’t hold back the smirk that played across his lips - blanket a forgotten mess halfway over him. “Planning to run away in the middle of the night like that?” He joked. He had to. The other option was to stand up and count every bunny on that vibrant tapestry of color.

With him.

“After this, I’m considering it.” The Darling bit back, raising his perfect eyebrows as if matter-of-factly. His arms crossed on his chest defensively. Though, the venom was slowly leaving him. “Why are you even down here? You should be upstairs resting.”

Well, he had tried. It didn’t work out. But the Omega didn’t need to know the details. The Little Feline also didn’t need to know how he had been all nice and tender - like a Mother - a second ago before snapping his teeth at him.

“Why aren’t you?” Jungkook threw the ball back at him to avoid getting caught in the crossfire. And to transfer the upheaval elsewhere as well. He was smiling lazily up at the Defensive Fur Ball - mockingly even - posture all too inviting and snug. It was - kind of - inescapable. He liked the Little Kitten’s claws and teeth turned on him. If he could corner her to attack, maybe - just maybe - he got to feel her for a moment against his skin.

His Blue gaze suspiciously measured and calculated him from head to toe. The Omega was either planning to slap him in the face or pat him on the shoulder for his stupidity. Either way, Jungkook waited for the verdict, willing to accept it.

But the Little Sweetheart didn’t comply, choosing to walk around his trap. The Bright Bird had seen right through him. And he had decided not to give him what he wanted - act as the Adult and leave without continuing this. He only muttered a defeated ‘Alphas’ under his breath, shaking his head way too fondly.

Jungkook eased back to his earlier position. His hand from the armrest went to the blanket on his lap. The Omega was a background sound in the Kitchen behind him, moving around to prepare the Formula for the Baby upstairs. And Affected by Magic, the Awe-stricken Alpha stared at the ceiling - Pensive and Attuned to the Omega’s every step.

Only when the Omega was with Nali upstairs, Jungkook got to come back to his body. Perhaps, with Park Jimin around, the rest of the World was supposed to be like this - a dull, faraway place where nothing moved except that Little Sorceress. And every thought was compromised by Blue Stardust.

He had to admit it. He was under a spell. But he was also afraid to give in and lose control. The last thing he needed was another Jia to bury. And there were two of them.

What was he to do?

The Omega returned downstairs to wash the bottle, heading back to the Baby afterward. He was back for one more time after hours. And Jungkook knew he was a Fucking Vessel of himself, Cursed to stay aware of the Omega’s every movement around the House. His Poor, Doomed Soul was dangling between a Dark Dreamland and him. And Jungkook had reached a point where he wanted to beg for the Omega’s mercy. The Sweet Little Thing would do it. The Alpha in him knew it certainly. Park Jimin would lull him to sleep too.

But Jungkook wouldn’t request such a thing. The Privileged Beastie upstairs could stay Lucky, receiving the royal treatment. She deserved it. She wasn’t even audible in the House. Who would want to be? With a Loving Mommy taking care of everything, the World was a Fairyland.

Before the first rays of sunlight, Jungkook was up to his feet, ending up on the front porch with his phone as an extension of his hand against his ear. He was delirious in his head from exhaustion, fingers rubbing around the bridge of his nose and temples to get rid of the tension there. His nerves weren’t well. And it was palpable in the air.

“I need you here.” He demanded dully to Namjoon on the phone. The Older Alpha was there in a nearby Hotel for the night. And Jungkook was beginning to think it would have been best to follow his lead, winding up in a Hotel as well. “We are leaving once the Omegas are up.”

“I’ll be there in 20 minutes, Sir. Should I bring anything?”

“Caffeine.” Jungkook had growled it out as if cursing out ten different races and their fucked up luck. “The rest in person.”

The Crotchety Headman hung up, heading for the Wood Swing to sit his weathered bones. He was getting too old for sleepless nights, wasn’t he? He had years to go without his eight hours. He needed his mind to function to run his hectic business schedule properly. Their night activities didn’t necessarily need him. His Men could handle them. And everything rolled just fine like that without him. He merely had to have his brain together.

Currently, he was slowly losing it.

“Sir,” Namjoon greeted once in front of him after 20 precise, sharp minutes, bowing adeptly with another Guard by his side, Taehyung, who was holding his Coffee.

It had to be around seven in the morning. The sunlight was shyly making its appearance known. The Omega Guard handed the large cup to him, rushing down the stairs and away from them. Jungkook watched him join another Omega Guard a bit farther down the front yard, Hoseok - the idea just popping into his mind. He would have to assign the Omegas for the Little Kitten’s Protection. Not just them, of course. Alphas had to be in the Game as well. But the two Omegas would pull the strings. Omegas could understand each other better. The Beauties would need them.

Namjoon followed his line of gaze.

“Authorize the two Omegas for Park Jimin’s Protection.” Jungkook started from there, relaxing back into his seat once he had asserted that weighty want - knowing his Faithful Dog would make it happen. “Wherever he goes, they go. Whatever he wants, they get.”

Namjoon was aware of what he had to do from there. He had to recruit a Team. Some of his Best Alphas were to be in it. They would do whatever the Omega said 24/7, sacrificing their lives if they had to.

“You get his name to the Best University in Seoul with transcription, right from where he’s left.” Jungkook continued talking without looking directly up at Namjoon. And Namjoon himself was facing the railings at his right, turned away from him to keep his eyes around at their other Men scattered in the area.

His Right-hand wouldn’t ask how he had done it - how he had convinced the Uncompromising Omega into coming with him. The Other Alpha was Deferential and Discreet like that. And he knew Jungkook and his ways all too well to have questions, to begin with. Inwardly, he must have guessed it. The Mafioso Leader hadn’t left the Boy much of a choice.

“Also,” Jungkook took a sip of his Black Coffee. It was okay. But, of course, he preferred it elsewhere - somewhere back to Seoul. “The Baby…” He paused, eyes going up to Namjoon right afterward - expecting, at least, a glance from the Other Unexcitable Alpha. He was right. “She’ll be his as she is mine.”

Namjoon found his gaze at that, confirming that Jungkook was dead serious. With a hint of collected surprise, he nodded, understanding right away. He wouldn’t delve into a business that wasn’t his own. “I’ll get in touch with our Legal Force. What will you do with the House?”

Jungkook had thought about it deeply. It wasn’t an easy call. He would keep the Pictures for Nali. But the rest was an unnecessary bother. Jungkook would rather not keep the added burden. The Omegas were enough. “I’ll only need the Photos from it.”

“Then I’ll make arrangements for sale.”

“No.” Jungkook calmly refused the notion. He also denied himself the urge to look around at those walls. His Sister needed them. Not him. “Burn it.”

“Sir, are you sure?” Even the Subservient Namjoon thought to object to it. Perhaps, Jungkook was taking things too far. But things had already been this way with his Sister’s death. An empty Home wouldn’t bring her back.

“You heard me, Namjoon.” Jungkook threatened mildly. He could hear noise from the inside of the House. Without another word, he stood up to return to the only Nuisances he would ever tolerate.

The Omega wasn’t alone in the Kitchen. Nali was attached to his hip in his arms, looking up at him, Bewitched. Jungkook could empathize with her. The Little Enchantress’s Power wasn’t a joke. The Omega was saying something to her in front of the kitchen sink with a pearly smile - a soft, baby voice only for her. Jungkook stepped closer to steal a glimpse of the Magic.

“Are you excited, Baby Princess?”

The Omega chirped for her, bouncing her - lightly - up and down against his hip with both his hands on her. “Your first ever trip! A Brand New City… A Different Air… Won’t it be fun? An Adventure!

A Brand New Start…

Without her Mother.

It was what the Omega meant.

Jia had to stay behind with the embers.

Park Jimin secured Nali close to him, reaching with his forefinger to poke her chin briskly. It initiated a gurgling laugh out of her. The Witch knew all her buttons, didn’t he?

“It’ll be exhausting, Baby.” He warned, adapting his voice to a sadder tone. They hadn’t noticed the Looming Alpha by the entrance yet, having eyes only for one another. And Jungkook didn’t mind it being like this. He could stay the Pariah to their Little Serene World - as long as it stayed that way.

“But you have to stay nice like you are.” The Omega pleaded with her, nuzzling her little nose and cheeks. At his behest, the Soft, Doughy Ball purled as if agreeing. They had an understanding between them. And Jungkook could perceive it too - which was weird. The Alpha hadn’t heard gibberish since Jia was a Tiny, Round Bread herself. “Your Uncle isn’t used to you.”

The Alpha’s ears perked up at that. What was the Little Temptress trying there? His arms entwined across his chest, side leaning against the door frame - anticipating.

“You are a Demanding, Little Cherub that wakes up every three hours and requires a lot of sleepless attention.” The Twenty-year-old Enticement accused tenderly. A kiss descended on her soft hair at once to sweeten his words. “Your Uncle can barely handle a night on the couch. Let’s not make him suffer that much, shall we? He seems Burdened. But Nice. You’ll love him.”

Only Nali would?

No one else?

The Little Omega was so willing to sit down and decode him. Yet, he hadn’t bothered checking himself? What about the Connection around them? Nothing clicked the way it did to Jungkook’s Wolf - nothing pulled?

Jungkook observed the Omega. He had quieted, moving to prepare Nali’s bottle with one hand - the other busy with holding her close to him. Patiently, she waited for him, suckling on her fist messily - purring and warbling to herself frivolously. The Alpha decided to make his presence known then, knocking lightly with two knuckles against the wooden door frame.

The Omega was less Bouncy and more Vigilant with the Vulnerable Gossypium in his arms. Nali had shuddered at his intrusion, searching to find and hold his gaze. Jimin had to stabilize her with a careful hand on her shoulder, Startled as well.

His eyes shot daggers at the Alpha. The Little Courageous Fireball was something else, wasn’t he? “You’ll have to stop doing that!”

“Doing what?” Jungkook played dumb with a sly smirk at the corner of his lips.

The Omega narrowed his eyes at him, still trying to figure out the proper responses to an Audacious Alpha like himself. In the end, he just chose to warn him again. “Just don’t sneak up on us.”

“Who sneaked up on whom last night?” Jungkook dared to retort slowly and without hypocrisies. It was a genuine question - no matter how smug it sounded.

The Omega reddened, Bashful. And the Baby decided to squeal around her saliva-coated hand, gurgling - as if liking the interaction around her. Jungkook thought so too.

“She wants to know as well.” The Alpha pointed at his New Little Ally with his head. Perhaps, they were going to get along just fine.

“Traitor.” The Scandalized Omega charged her with the label, turning to grab her bottle and test the temperature of the milk against the back of his palm on his other hand.

The Baby Omega had started to fuss at the sight of her feeding time, bouncing demandingly and whining a tiny bit. Everything was butterflies and rainbows once she was laid across her Mama’s embrace with the plastic teat in her mouth.

Jungkook stayed to watch them from afar, giving them space and time. The Omega leaned against the counter with a soft smile on his lips for her, attentively observing her too. They were granting him that honor - of being there with them in such an intimate state. As if Jungkook too had some kind of right to them.

They would leave in a bit. Or a lifetime later. The Alpha wouldn’t mind it at all. Right then, they had recognized his claim on them, accepting it - stirring awake something very possessively protective inside of him.

And Jungkook would find himself in their presence in moments like those. It was all he could do since he couldn’t further approach them. The Two Little Magical Creatures were unapproachably Sacred that way. Jungkook wouldn’t go to them - tarnish them with his Sinful Presence. They could stay in their little bubble inside his Home - with him outside of it. It was enough. The Formidable Alpha knew no other way.

They had flown back to Seoul. Namjoon stayed to finish his business for him. Jungkook didn’t linger to watch the holocaust happening. The job would be done with or without him. He trusted his Right-hand to deliver flawlessly. The Omega’s place was to be dealt with next. His belongings were there in the Mafioso’s Dark Fortress that same afternoon.

Along with the Two Precious Sweethearts.

The first day was hell. Nali hadn’t kept her Promise. She was a Restive Beastie in distress, fretting and fussing around tearfully. The flight had gone well - smoothly even. She had been all smiles and shy glances at him, crooning and playing peek-a-boo with her Feigned Mother until she was knocked out by sleep.

The beginning of the catastrophe was in the Imperious Transparent Penthouse. She had woken up in an unfamiliar bed, not the sweet-scented crib she had known all her six-month-old short life. And she had panicked, unable to understand what was going on. The whole Apartment had quivered under her cries. It was a powerful, devastated wail that had even left Jungkook on edge - because the cry was mournful more than it was full of terror.

Jimin had rushed to her. But she wasn’t hushing, not even for him. His Scarlet Magic couldn’t work. She was crying for something that was rising beyond her. And Jungkook could feel it. He had gone to them after a while. With the lack of sleep and the unceasing crying - still heartbroken and loud around him - he couldn’t get some work done from his Home Office anyway.

He entered the tumultuous room of Park Jimin’s without knocking. He had requested to be positioned right next to his own. But currently, the Fatigued Alpha was questioning every life choice he had ever made.

“What’s wrong?” He had asked it way too softly - apparently. The stressed Omega had seen him coming in. But he hadn’t bothered slowing down his troubled pace or gracing him with a second glance. The Blazing Tot in his arms had all of his worry and attention. The Omega was bouncing her, patting her back. His useless strides across the room were betraying his helplessness in the matter.

It wasn’t effective in the slightest. The Little Hopeless Nanny didn’t seem to know what to do. Of course, he didn’t. The Nali had been nothing but an Angel in her Home. Now, a Demon had replaced her. If someone were to tell him they were the same Babies, Jungkook wouldn’t have believed them if he hadn’t witnessed it with his own eyes.

“HUH?” The Omega asked without halting, not having caught Jungkook’s question with Nali’s cry all over them. He had to yell it a bit for the Alpha to hear it.

Jungkook couldn’t believe he was living this. “I said: WHAT’S WRONG!? WHY IS SHE CRYING LIKE THIS?”

Jimin stopped in front of him. The window wall with the panoramic view of a Dark Seoul was right behind him. Nali was a Red Weeping Ball of sweat and despair between them. And the sight was getting worrisome for the Indifferent Alpha himself. She had been like this ever since she had woken up. That was half an hour ago!

“I DON’T KNOW!” The Omega had to shout it with tears of his own. “I THINK IT’S THE CHANGE OF ENVIRONMENT. YOUR PLACE ISN’T HER PLACE!”

It was a theory. His Home wasn’t her Home. Her World had turned upside down into a dubious wavering land for the second time in a month. Perhaps, she was reliving her grief. Perhaps, Jungkook had made a mistake by taking her. His Alpha would never admit such a thing.

THEN MAKE IT!” The Frantic Alpha had roared that out - louder than a moment ago - imposing himself on the Omegas, intimidating the Possessed Infant to an abrupt, petrified quietness.

The Omega’s Blue had widened in astonishment, dropping down along with the Alpha’s eyes to the Silent Baby nestled against his chest. Jimin had to lay her in his arms and gaze at her face - inspecting her little wet characteristics. She was. She had exhausted herself. Whether the Alpha’s harshness had scared her to the realization of it or not, they couldn’t know. Her droopy eyes searched to lock with the Alpha’s face before slipping to Neverland.

And that was it - the end of the World War.

But how exactly had that happened?

“Did you…” The Omega seemed uncertain about saying whatever it was in his mind. But when his eyes went back to him, his Cyan was just as confused and disoriented as the Alpha felt. “Use your voice on her?”

Jungkook’s brows rose, pondering the question. His head ended up tipping slightly to one side with more questions. Why would the Omega have to ask him that? Couldn’t he tell for himself? Yes. The room was filled with the Omegas’ sorrowful distress and salty tears. But the Alpha’s released Pheromones wouldn’t have drowned under that mess. If he had used his Alpha voice on Nali, his Domineering Pheromones would have given him away. There was no way around it. There was nothing to miss. An Alpha’s scent during the action would have to spike to accompany the command and make it possible. It was how it worked.

Not for the Little Omega - apparently.

“You…” The Alpha’s eyes contracted, inwardly scrutinizing the Omega still. For sure, the question hadn’t been rhetorical. The Little Softie had asked gently and innocently - no indications of anger and suspicion, no nothing. The Alpha was left with no other choice. He had to ask. “You couldn’t smell whether I was or not?”

The Omega’s lower lip fell - then followed his gaze. A pink hue of faint embarrassment settled high on his milky cheeks. And Jungkook knew before the words had left the Omega’s mouth - God hadn’t been that kind to another Fallen Angel.

“I have a weak sense of smell.” The Tiny Omega explained without looking directly up at him. His lashes fluttered as if trying to will the description of his Disability off his head. Sadly, it wouldn’t be that simple.

“I can’t smell you unless you’re standing straight to my face.” The Omega laughed a bit, bitterly - at himself and his suggestions. He then shrugged, biting his lip.

He had accepted it. He was the Omega that couldn’t experience his life the way their Fellow Wolves did. That road was his Fate. He had espoused it. But, for a Wolf, it would always remain an embarrassing and pejorative thing to confess regardless. Scents meant everything to them. Scents were their World. Their Mates, their Pups, and their Families were scents. A True Destined Mate was in the scent.

Now, everything made much more sense.

Park Jimin was a Little Omega full of surprises.

Unconcerned about the facetiousness in the Omega’s exhortation, Jungkook made it happen. He chose to step closer and eliminate the gap between them, making the Omega’s arms around Nali graze with his clothed, solid stomach. Panicked, the Omega eyed the area, trying to step back.

Jungkook would never let that roll smoothly - not on his watch. His right hand grabbed the Omega’s jaw a bit too harshly to tilt it back in place under his gleaming Red gaze for the survey. The Tiny Cygnet relented to him with innocent Cyan orbs, hushing and holding still.

And Jungkook liked the trust.

He liked the little rounded nasal tip that didn’t know him. That delicate detail was meant to change everything in their predestined path. However, unpredictable challenges were welcome. An Alpha like Jungkook was made to enjoy the rush of a bumpy road. It signified more fun - the fun of the Chase.

For a Tiny Bird.

“Your World must be a very particular place, Fairy.” Jungkook crooned lovingly, repaying for the previous harshness in his hold. Fingers caressed impeccable skin around the Omega’s chin and cheeks, marveling and worshipping. He wanted to be the first. He wanted that skin to be responsive only around him and his touch. He wanted the Little, Crippled Butterfly to only have his scent and Nali’s embedded in his brain.

The Omega blinked - a Stray Little Kitten thrown at the Sea.

Hmm… Jungkook would save her.

“It hasn’t always been like this.” The Omega voluntarily elucidated with the tiniest tone. The Alpha would keep her in a Golden Box where nothing could reach and harm her. “In Sixth Grade, an Alpha Boy was messing with my Alpha Friend during break time. I pushed him. So, he pushed me back. But, somehow, I tripped further, struggling to keep my balance.” The Little Thing had the reddest cheeks while recalling this, Bashful and Embarrassed enormously. Still, he had chosen him to tell the Story to - his Alpha. “I ended up hitting my head badly. Three stitches. After that, scents just - kind of - went off the picture for me.”

Jungkook should kill the Bastard. Absent-mindedly, his hand kept cherishing, pampering the Precious Goddess that wouldn’t protest his touch for the love of his.

“I think I can recall my Mother’s scent.” The Omega added with a trace of a bitter smile on him. No. Jungkook should burn the World for him. “It was something close to Gardenias. Other than that, Nali is all I have left from that area.”

So, Jungkook was right. The Omega’s World was a precise Realm of two scents. No one had ever gone near him the way they had. The Alpha yearned to become a part of that Exclusive World - one day.

“It’s what I’ve just told you.” The Alpha’s demanding thumb pressed against the Omega’s soft chin, charging for the night - one last time. He would have to add words to his earlier sayings to help the Little Kitten understand. The Mother had a Crucial Mission in his Home. And she knew it - in her bones. She merely didn’t want to dishonor the Dead.

But Ashes wouldn’t mind.

Jungkook would grant her Permission.

“Make these walls her Home.” The Omega would merely have to give her the impression of safety. And Omegas knew precisely how to succeed in that. “Show her how she’s your whole World.”

Jungkook had whispered every syllable - slowly and proudly - tilting the Omega’s head further upward to him. The Little Ball of Uniqueness should share his Pride. He could. The Blue in his gaze had Awed Astonishment, the kind that was aware of the Miracle the Alpha was trying to impose on him. The Tiny Fiery Mother could understand where the Alpha was going with those words.

“You can.” The Alpha would say it one more time. And as many times as he had to. They were in his Home now. And the Rules were simple. Whatever was his, it was the Omega’s as well. Park Jimin had to get that in his little brain.

“She’s Yours.”
