Summary
One autumn Friday in 2008, Chloe Price does something spectacularly stupid. Figures she's stupid enough to get herself caught, too. To top things off, it's for a stupid reason she won't readily admit, but then again, Chloe's been stupid about most things, lately.
Chloe's words, not his.
The truth is, his daughter hasn't been particularly good with her decision making for quite some time.
And William Price wants to figure out why.
This story will follow Chloe and Max from just before Max's birthday, a week away from Farewell, all the way to well after the storm, while also taking regular pit stops in Seattle to figure out what Max has been up to these five years.
The story is Soft AU, with the aim to hit all the major story beats until after the storm, and keeping the characters as close to canon as possible. However, there'll be slight changes here and there, and expanding on the world and events that are only canon footnotes to make the world feel richer instead of just the canon play-by-play.

Bezieht sich auf die Zeit zwischen Life is Strange und Before the Storm und schließt viele Lücken zwischen Chloe und Rachel ein, aber mit starkem Fokus auf Chloe, wie sie in einer schwierigen Phase weiterlebt.
Viele Leser loben die charaktergerechte Darstellung und die ruhige, eher „healing‑basierte“ Atmosphäre; Erotik ist nicht zentral.

William and Vanessa's characterization in this is exemplar. I love Joyce's voice as well. Chloe and Max are adorable, as to be expected, even when they are being devoured alive by anxiety. Love the early chapters especially, and hope this fic will be completed one day, but considering it's a monstrous undertaking, it could be unlikely.
Also, the chapter where Max goes in a fugue state and tries to return to AB/Chloe: WOW. WOW. Wow. Wow. I have lived that experience. Wow.
