These dreams are haunting, all-consuming, and from them he wakes with a heart pounding like a drum, fear rippling throughout his entire being. They are memories, dragged up from the depths to torment him every night, and for a long while, Tubbo would forgo sleep altogether to avoid them.

wow. this was just so well written? like the writing is so fast paced and literally breathtaking. i started reading this fic ages ago AND WHY DID I NOT FINISH IT IT'S LITERALLY SO GOOD WHAT.
anyways the chess aspect is so well integrated into the fic, as someone who is horrible at chess i absolutely loved this to pieces. also just the fact that it's tubbo centric is amazing because it's literally such a cool insight into what tubbo's thinking and how he views the world and all the people around him, the character dynamics between everyone was just so well written and there are so many little details i may have to do a reread soon because holy shit it's simply too good.
