You could have never caught the younger boy drinking coffee; his offering was obviously intended to work as a truce, a white flag Yoongi didn’t have the heart to ignore. “I’ll be there in five.”
The rest of the week passed uneventfully, their game of push and pull being the only one able to influence the general atmosphere, reminding them every once in a while about the uncertainty of it all. There were days in which the writer constantly thought about giving up on his hopes and feelings. But then Taehyung came along, with his round eyes and pouty lips, clinging to Yoongi as if he hadn’t been the one deciding the safe distance they should always keep, climbing under his sheets in the middle of the night as if it was the most natural thing to do, asking him to make up stories to help him sleep.
Keeping your place was a hard thing to do when your enemy was so volatile, asking for soft kisses when he believed soft kisses were due, making sure their hands were holding each other whenever in proximity.
