Work Text:

Rock a-bye… Baby... “

The house stood silent. Everyone was sound asleep. Except for Wilbur. He had made the decision to leave home. He had a fight with Phil, his father… It was the biggest fight they’d ever had.

Phil had pissed the brunette off, So he decided to leave.

On… the tree top

Wilbur was the oldest of 3. He had a younger twin, who was only younger by a few minutes, and also a tiny little brother. Tommy, at the very young age of 2. Wilbur loved the child more than anyone in his family, the child smiling brightly whenever he played his little guitar tunes.

Tommy’s first words were “Wilby!!”. It melted his heart, he couldn’t leave his precious baby brother behind. Not with Techno and Phil . They’d hurt him, and judge him. Just like how they judged Wilbur. He would take little Tommy away. Make a safe place for him. Where he would only smile more, where Wilbur could play his music more. A place free of tyranny.

When the wind blows-

Wilbur gently picked the golden haired boy from his cradle, Gently rocking the small boy, wanting to keep him calm and asleep.

The cradle will rock.

He hummed softly, and picked up his bag, keeping a strong yet gentle grip on him. He picked up Tommy’s small cow plushie, his favourite and a gift from Wilbur himself. He was Tommy’s favourite, he knew it. There was no doubt.

When the bough breaks.

He slowly walked out of the house, wrapping the small child in his jacket. He didn’t once look back towards the house. It wasn’t his home anymore. It wasn’t either of their homes anymore.

The baby will fall

Phil woke up the next morning. Finding Wilbur gone, and Tommy’s bed empty.

Down will come baby

He sobbed into his hands, overcome with grief. His own son kidnapped his brother. Tommy was gone.

Cradle and all!
