Chapter Text
“Is that going to be all, Mrs. Choi?” Taehyung looked at the middle aged lady as he carried armful of clothes to the cashier.
“Yes, my dear, I think that’s enough for today, my husband would go insane if I bought more,” the woman chuckled.
“Well, your husband needs to spoil a woman like you,” Taehyung chuckled, putting slight seduction in his voice. It always helped with customers, especially the regulars like Mrs. Choi.
When Taehyung graduated with diploma in fashion design, he didn’t picture himself to end up working in a Gucci store at the most expensive street in Seoul, but he wasn’t complaining. He still worked with fashion and he loved the interaction with the customers. Some of them were real snobs, but he had his way with words and facial expressions, so he was able to wrap everyone around his finger. Plus his salary wasn’t bad, he could afford a small apartment of his own and that alone was success in such city as Seoul.
“You’re always such a delight to be around, Taehyung-ah,” Mrs. Choi beamed.
“It’s always great to have you here,” the young man bowed: “Come see us again.”
“I surely will, have a nice evening, Taehyung-ah” Mrs. Choi giggled and turned her attention to the cashier, pulling out her husband’s credit card.
“Taehyung-ah?” someone called him.
“Yes, Jisoo?” he turned around, smiling at his co-worker.
“I need you in the men section,” the girl said: “There is a very important customer and Jennie had to go home earlier.”
“I thought only women were handling men section, rich guys like pretty girls to look at.”
“True, but there is no one else that can take it right now,” Jisoo sighed.
“I’m on it, don’t worry, I can woo anyone, even straight old men,” Taehyung flipped his chestnut hair flirtatiously, making the girl laugh.
“Nothing old about this one, but okay,” Jisoo giggled.
“Even better then,” Taehyung licked his lips and fluffed his hair. Younger men were easier to woo and it was also easier to work with them, although most of them were arrogant assholes. Taehyung was already used to that, all kinds of people were coming to their store.
“Mr. Jeon,” Jisoo spoke when they made it to the men section. There was a guy standing with his back to them, dressed in a black suit, which wasn’t unusual attire around here.
“I apologize but Jennie is not available today, I got a substitute for her though, I believe you’ll be content, he is one of our best assistants,” Jisoo continued.
The man turned around and Taehyung’s breath caught in his throat. It was like in some cheesy movie moment but it really felt like the time around Taehyung just stopped.
The man was about the same height as Taehyung, but he had broader shoulders. His hands were nonchalantly buried in his pants’ pockets, the pants were fitted, accentuating his long, strong legs. He had black longer, parted hair that was flowing in slight waves around his face. His eyes were big but impossibly dark, with a glint in them and there was a small, slightly arrogant smirk playing on his lips. He was in his late twenties or early thirties and he was hot as hell.
“That’s alright, Jisoo, I am sure the young man here will help me,” Mr. Jeon, how Jisoo called him, spoke with quiet, soft voice.
“I-I’m Taehyung, Mr. Jeon,” Taehyung got out, bowing to the man politely before he narrowed and looked at the older.
“It’s very nice to meet you, Taehyung, please, call me Jeongguk,” the man took his hand and shook it. Taehyung just stared at him, feeling shivers running down his spine when he saw the intense look in the man’s eyes.
God, Taehyung sometimes forgot how damn gay he was.
“Alright, I’m gonna leave you to it,” Jisoo clapped and walked away.
“S-so, Mr. Jeon-“
“Jeongguk.”
“Okay, um, Jeongguk-ssi, what can I do for you?” Taehyung tried to focus on the job.
“I am sure there would be plenty of what you could do for me, Taehyung,” Jeongguk said with sparkles in his eyes: “But I am here looking for some shirts.”
“Then you are in the right store.”
“I gotta admit that Gucci is normally really not my style, I prefer simpler clothes, but I do like shirts from here.”
“We just got a new collection, the shirts are amazing and from great materials, let me show you,” Taehyung walked over to a rack with shirts: “Is there a colour or pattern that you prefer?”
“Well, I am dark colours type of guy,” Jeongguk said. Taehyung briefly eyed him, not surprised by the statement since Jeongguk had a black suit with dark grey shirt on. Although Taehyung loved colours, he had to admit the older man looked great in dark, it somehow suited him.
“And a pattern?”
“Just something simple, it doesn’t have to be plain, but definitely nothing crazy.”
“Okay, let’s see,” Taehyung hummed, turning to the rack. Once he focused on shirts, he felt more in his element. He could feel the burning gaze on his profile but he tried to ignore it, flicking through the hangers to find something that would suit the man.
“You know what? Why don’t you go to the changing room and I will bring you few options in a minute?” the assistant cleared his throat. It felt like he couldn’t focus with Jeongguk around.
“Alright, I trust your judgement, Taehyung,” Jeongguk nodded and walked away.
Taehyung breathed out. He needed to get a grip of himself, he felt like a stuttering and blushing mess, that was definitely not gonna help him, where the hell was his seduction game? Something about Jeongguk was making him nervous, not necessarily in a bad way, there was just something about the man, like some kind of powerful aura that was slightly intimidating but hot at the same time.
“Okay, Jeongguk-ssi, I’m here,” Taehyung called when he came to the changing rooms with four shirts.
“Let’s see,” Jeongguk peeked out and grabbed the hangers from the younger.
Taehyung just stood there and waited nervously, he hoped Jeongguk would like at least one of the options he chose.
“What do you think?” Taehyung was started by Jeongguk’s voice as the older man stepped out, dressed in a black shirt from soft material. Taehyung gulped, the clothing was clinging to the man’s chest, leaving only little to imagination.
“Very nice,” Taehyung got out. It wasn’t common for non-regulars to come out and ask assistants’ opinion, but Taehyung didn’t mind, not when Jeongguk looked like that.
“Okay, I guess this one is a yes, I really like the material, feels good,” Jeongguk hummed and went back to the dressing room.
He walked out two more times, once in a dark blue shirt with delicate polka dots in lighter blue and the third piece was plain burgundy shirt.
“I will take these three, the fourth one isn’t really my style,” Jeongguk concluded, handing Taehyung over a dark green shirt with stripes.
“Alright, you made a great choice.”
“Well, it was your choice,” the older chuckled. He went back to the dressing room and handed Taehyung the three shirts.
“I will take them to the cashier and wait for you there if it’s everything, Jeongguk-ssi,” Taehyung informed him.
“Yes, that will be all, thank you.”
Taehyung rushed out, feeling like he could breathe much better out in the open space. His heart was hammering like crazy which was just weird, he was just helping a customer like he did every day. But there was just that something about Jeongguk…
He made it to the cashier, looking around when he didn’t see anyone. He took the shirts then and got behind the desk to take care of it.
“So how much?” Jeongguk’s voice startled him. Only then Taehyung realized that the man didn’t say anything about price before, most of people that came here were pretty clear about the amount they wanted to spend.
“It is 8 290 455 won, Jeongguk-ssi,” Taehyung read the amount. That was a lot for just three shirts, but they were from a brand new collection after all.
“Alright,” Jeongguk didn’t seem fazed by the amount when he reached in his pocket, taking out a leather wallet. Taehyung tried not to stare when he noticed at least five credit cards inside, it was clear that Jeongguk was very rich, but again, that wasn’t such unusual occurrence around here.
Taehyung folded the clothes neatly, putting them in a bag. The whole time, he could feel a gaze on him, which made his fingers extra clumsy.
“It was pleasure to have you, Jeongguk-ssi, I hope you will come back soon,” Taehyung gave Jeongguk the bag and bowed, avoiding eye contact. He usually said that line just as part of his training and luring, hoping to get regular customers, but in this case, he really meant it.
“I think I will, yes,” Jeongguk said quietly and something in his voice made Taehyung look at him. His eyes were intense, it felt like he was staring right into Taehyung’s soul.
“H-have a nice evening,” Taehyung breathed out, feeling his cheeks heating up when Jeongguk gave him a small wink before he turned around and left the boutique.
“Fuck,” Taehyung breathed out as he turned around, leaning back against the cashier desk, trying to steady his crazy heart. What was all this about? He was hardly ever so affected by anyone, especially a person he just saw for the first time.
Jeongguk walked out, spotting Hoseok leaning against the car.
“What took you so long?” Hoseok pulled back from the car, opening the passenger door for the other: “You usually just go in, grab few things often without trying them on in the store and leave.”
“I couldn’t tear my eyes off of one piece,” Jeongguk replied.
“And did you buy it?”
“No, not yet,” Jeongguk shook his head, smirking slightly: “But I will come back for it.”
Hoseok didn’t comment on it, there were these sparkles in Jeongguk’s eyes, sparkles that appeared when he had his eyes on something he wanted. Sparkles that often scared the shit out of most people.
“We need to hurry, we are late for the meeting with Jihyun,” Hoseok pointed out as he got in the car behind the steering wheel.
“I don’t give a shit about Jihyun, he will wait,” Jeongguk scoffed, looking out of the window at the Seoul streets.
“I have a job for you, Hobi,” the younger of the two said after a while of silence.
“What job?”
“I want you to find information about someone for me, I will tell you the details later.”
“Alright,” Hoseok eyed the other but didn’t say anything, finding information for Jeongguk wasn’t anything uncommon after all.
*
Taehyung unlocked the door of his modest apartment. It wasn’t anything big, just a one bedroom place with tiny kitchen and living room, but the price was reasonable and the location was nice.
He was immediately greeted by clapping of paws on the wooden floor and in the next second, a furry ball appeared in the small entry hall.
“Hey there, buddy, how have you been?” Taehyung picked up his Pomeranian, cuddling him in his arms: “I am sorry I’m so late.”
Yeontan licked his face as if to let him know that it was okay. A high school kid from the next door apartment was taking him out and feeding him when Taehyung couldn’t. The dog was his only friend, keeping him from going insane with loneliness.
When he was at school, he had quite lots of friends, but he always liked his space and preferred being alone. After he graduated from college, he didn’t really have anyone, he occasionally went out with his colleagues from work, but otherwise his life was dull and boring.
He grew up in Daegu, his parents were abusive assholes. Thankfully he had a brother older by seven years that has always been his guardian angel.
When his hyung graduated from high school, he packed their things, took Taehyung and they moved to Seoul together, escaping their terrible parents. They lived in rough conditions at first, Taehyung was only twelve at the time, but his brother found a job, so he was able to finish middle school and then also high school.
Before he went to college, his hyung got promoted and started earning some big money, so he paid for Taehyung’s college as well. Taehyung owed him everything, really, he would be nowhere without him and they have always been very close despite the age gap.
Unfortunately, in the past couple of years, his hyung started being very busy with work, so they didn’t get to see each other very often. He usually stopped by Taehyung’s apartment like once a month for a day or two, but sometimes Taehyung felt really lonely.
He put Yeontan down and went to the kitchen, looking in the fridge for something to eat. He wasn’t a great cook and he didn’t want to wait for a take-out so he just made himself a simple sandwich and flopped down on the couch. Yeontan jumped up and lied down next to him.
Taehyung pulled out his phone and dialled a familiar number. It was one of those evenings he felt really lonely.
“Taehyung-ah, hi,” the familiar voice spoke in the speaker.
“Seokjinnie-hyung, how are you?” Taehyung smiled, mood instantly improving just from hearing the voice.
“I’m quite busy actually, I can’t really talk, I am at a meeting,” the elder said apologetically.
“Meeting, now? Hyung, it’s almost ten.”
“You know how this office work is, sometimes there are urgent meetings and they happen at any time of the day.”
Taehyung didn’t know much about Seokjin’s work. He just knew that he worked in some office of some big corporation, something to do with shipping. They never really talked about it, Seokjin always insisted on speaking about Taehyung when he came to visit. Sometimes he had a feeling his hyung was hiding something from him though, he has never even been to Seokjin’s place. He apparently also had a boyfriend but Taehyung has never met him, he just knew from the way his brother spoke about him that he was a good man and that was all Taehyung cared about, about his hyung’s happiness.
“Seokjin, what are you doing?” a voice in the phone fell to Taehyung’s ears.
“Coming, boss!” Seokjin yelled at someone and then told Taehyung: “Sorry, little brother, I really gotta go or my boss is gonna get grumpy. I’ll call you later, yeah?”
“Yeah, okay,” Taehyung sighed: “Take care, hyung.”
“You too, honey, bye, love you.”
“Love you too.”
With that, the call ended.
Taehyung sighed, putting the phone down and burying his hand in Yeontan’s fur, stroking him lightly.
His thoughts went back to his day at work, more specifically to one of the last customers of today.
He could still see the handsome face in his mind, it was hard to forget, since Jeongguk was one of the most handsome people he’s ever seen. There was just something about the man, something entrancing yet mysterious. He didn’t get flustered easily, he was actually usually outgoing and flirty, but with Jeongguk, he felt like an awkward teenager.
He was used to flirting and sleazy comments from men and women at work. He was handsome, he knew he was, that was like the only good quality he and his brother inherited from their parents, and people were often reminding him of that.
But that’s the thing, Jeongguk wasn’t really sleazy, he was actually pretty polite. It was about his gazes and the way he carried himself that made him slightly intimidating yet so interesting at the same time.
What a shame Taehyung was probably never going to see him again, even if he came back to their store, he usually worked in women department, tonight was an exception.
Even if he could see him again then it meant nothing. Jeongguk was several years older, he surely had a partner or a spouse, someone as handsome as he was. But even if he was single, why would someone as obviously rich as him want anything to do with someone like Taehyung? He knew how it worked, snobs were marrying other snobs, life wasn’t some damn Cinderella story, that much he knew.
He let out another long sigh and got up from the sofa. It wasn’t really that late yet and he had another afternoon shift tomorrow, but he decided to just go take a shower and go to bed, maybe to read something before he’d go to sleep.
Another dull day of his dull life was over.
*
Jeongguk was looking down on the streets of Seoul from the floor-to-ceiling window in his penthouse, holding a glass of scotch in his hand. He needed to clear his mind, the last meeting didn’t go as expected and their last package got delayed on its way from South America, so things weren’t exactly peachy. If he learned something in all the years, he knew things could always be worse though.
“Jeongguk?” a familiar voice startled him, he didn’t even hear anyone coming in his apartment.
“Hobi, do you need something?” the younger turned around with tired expression. Hoseok came over to the big dining table, putting down some folder.
“I am done with that research you tasked me to do.”
“Well, finally some good news, I hope,” Jeongguk raised an eyebrow, walking to the elder, his interest peaking.
“I think you are gonna be content if you want it for the purpose I think you do,” Hoseok looked at him, taking out few papers from the folder, handing them over to the other: “I found what I could and I also watched him for few days. He works in that Gucci store full-time, he’s a fashion designer major in SNU, he lives alone with a dog. I have never seen him going out with anyone, he always goes straight home from work or to a local grocery store. He’s twenty three, single, gay, has some history of dating but nothing serious, doesn’t really have friends by the looks of it, takes a bus or train to work. Doesn’t have any criminal records or connections to anyone that would concern us. Looks like a pretty innocent and lonely guy.”
Jeongguk took a random paper and looked briefly at it, humming: “Looks promising.”
“His family is interesting though, you are gonna want to see it,” Hoseok pointed at a paper: “He comes from Daegu, had terrible childhood with shitty parents, ran away when he was twelve with his hyung. And that is where it gets interesting.”
Jeongguk looked at the paragraph about Taehyung’s family and his eyes slightly widened. He looked slowly at Hoseok: “That is indeed very interesting. Seokjin forgot to mention he had a little brother, a handsome one at that.”
“Well, apparently good looks run in their family,” Hoseok chuckled, mentioning Seokjin’s good looks. He turned serious then: “Jeongguk, it’s none of my business but…considering their relation, don’t you think it’s for the best to get your hands off of this one?”
“Quite opposite actually, their relation is what makes it more intriguing and fun,” Jeongguk chuckled devilishly.
“Since Seokjin never mentioned anything about him, it looks like Taehyung has no idea what his hyung is doing.”
“What makes you think it’s gonna change?” Jeongguk quirked his eyebrow: “I am just a young and successful CEO, aren’t I? And you all work for me, I have never told my previous partners anything and it has always worked, it is for the best anyway.”
“Sure,” Hoseok rolled his eyes with a snort: “You want me to do something else?”
“Look at my schedule and find out how are his shifts. You will take me back to the store, I suddenly remembered I need some new ties,” the younger smirked, looking down at the photo of the young man that Hoseok took when he was walking out of work. He was perfect, so handsome and delicate and elegant, yet there was some fierceness about him that really intrigued him. His deep eyes looked like there were small flames dancing in them, Jeongguk could tell that he was a feisty little thing with heart of a fighter.
*
Taehyung was just folding clothes at the end of his shift, the store was almost empty by now so he decided to get on with it so he could go home early.
“Taehyung-ah? There is a customer that asks specifically for you,” Jennie appeared next to him.
“What, in the men section?” Taehyung raised his eyebrow.
“Yep, said he wants you to be his assistant.”
“Alright, I’m coming,” Taehyung nodded. Who the hell was requesting him in the men section? It was probably Mr. Park, a man in his fifties that had three children around Taehyung’s age and who was very obviously closeted gay. He was nice, but he was always flirting with him, throwing in sleazy comments. But hey, it was his job, he had to go.
He stopped in his tracks when he walked in the men section and spotted someone who definitely wasn’t Mr. Park.
Jeongguk was looking around the store, looking like he owned the place with his aura. It’s been like ten days since he was here for the first time. Taehyung didn’t understand why he requested him, it made his heart beat slightly faster but then he reprimanded himself, the older man probably wanted him just because he already helped him and knew what he liked.
Jeongguk turned around when he heard footsteps behind him, smiling to himself when he saw Taehyung. The younger looked even more handsome than he remembered him, he was wearing nice and neat outfit – undoubtedly Gucci since employees were usually getting discounts or they just got old and unsold pieces – and he looked graceful.
“Jeongguk-ssi, what a lovely surprise,” Taehyung said in flirtatious tone, but Jeongguk didn’t like it. It sounded fake, it was undoubtedly his ‘customers voice’ and Jeongguk didn’t want him to speak to him like that, like he was just another customer to serve. He didn’t like the thought of Taehyung flirting with people either, just imagining him throwing that gorgeous smile around was making his skin crawl. He has always had possessiveness issues and Taehyung wasn’t even his yet.
“Good to see you are at work, it is definitely more pleasant to have you around, Taehyung,” Jeongguk replied smoothly, pleased when he saw the small blush on the younger’s cheeks. Cute.
“What can I do for you this time, Jeongguk-ssi?”
“I need a new tie or two.”
“Say no more,” Taehyung smiled, walking to a display case with luxurious ties. Jeongguk walked over to stand beside him, feeling the assistant tense slightly.
“Is there a piece that caught your attention?” Taehyung looked at the elder.
“There might be,” Jeongguk looked back, giving the younger an intense look. Taehyung cleared his throat and looked away, biting his lip shyly. It looked like he understood the double meaning behind Jeongguk’s words.
“I like this one,” Jeongguk pointed at a dark silver tie with subtle pattern.
“Good choice, that one will go nicely with any black, grey or white shirt.”
“Then that’s the one because those colours are my favourite,” Jeongguk hummed, watching Taehyung taking the tie out. He immediately noticed he had long, delicate fingers and the way he gently took the tie made Jeongguk’s mind reel with images of what else could Taehyung’s pretty fingers treat so delicately.
“May I?” Taehyung looked nervously at the elder, holding the tie close to him.
“Go on,” Jeongguk nodded, letting Taehyung put the tie to his chest to see what it looked like. They turned to the nearest mirror with Taehyung standing by Jeongguk’s side, still holding the tie above his collarbones.
“Looks great,” Jeongguk commented but his eyes never once slipped to the tie, instead they were fixed on Taehyung’s face. The younger kept his gaze low, biting his lip, obviously trying hard not to react.
“I will take it,” Jeongguk eventually said.
“Do you wanna look at another one?”
“No, one is enough.”
They went to the cashier, there was a girl that took the tie from Taehyung and smiled seductively at Jeongguk. He returned her smile, he has never been against a bit of flirting and this woman was pretty.
He noticed from the corner of his eye Taehyung looking between him and the woman. He turned his head, raising his eyebrow at Taehyung with a small smirk.
“Um, have a nice evening, Jeongguk-ssi,” Taehyung said when Jeongguk had his tie in the small bag and was ready to leave.
“Likewise, Taehyung, thank you for your help,” the elder bowed.
Jeongguk left and Taehyung felt like he could breathe again. What was all this about? Why the hell was he so flustered in the man’s presence? It just felt like Jeongguk was pining him with every look, even when he kept his mouth shut, it still felt like he was holding Taehyung in the palm of his hand.
Taehyung came home an hour later, cuddling with Yeontan for a while before he went to take a shower and climbed in his bed.
He took his phone and went to Google, there was no harm in looking Jeongguk up, right? He had to be some rich, powerful man, there was no doubt about it, not just because he obviously didn’t care about prices but also because of the way he carried himself.
Taehyung typed ‘Jeon Jeongguk’ in the search bar and pressed enter. Hundreds of articles and websides appeared and even though it wasn’t really that shocking, it still caught Taehyung by surprise.
He opened the first page that looked like some decent article with info about Jeongguk rather than just some gossip magazine.
So apparently Jeongguk was the owner and CEO of several companies in Seoul and few other Korean cities. Most of the companies were in his family for at least two generations but some were bought and lead by him. He was twenty eight and apparently he was one of the most desirable bachelors in the country. Taehyung could see why, he was wealthy and handsome, there had to be queue of people trying to get him.
He smiled when he read another paragraph, it turned out that Jeongguk was an avid benefactor of numerous charities, hospitals and schools. Only in the past couple of years he and his family donated millions of dollars to these institutions.
All in all, Jeongguk looked like a pretty awesome person.
Taehyung went to Google images, biting his lip when dozens of images appeared on his phone. In most of them, Jeongguk was wearing a suit and serious expression. He hardly ever smiled when he was posing for photos but the hard look was pretty sexy. Taehyung found few photos where he was smiling, it was usually during some charity event or an opening of new hospital wing and his heart skipped a beat. His mile was gorgeous, his eyes were clinked, his teeth were cute and his nose was scrunched. How could someone be so hot and so adorable at the same time?
Taehyung spent around an hour reading articles and looking at photos of the young businessman. He choked on his own saliva when he read that Jeongguk’s net worth – including what was already in his family – was around five hundred million dollars, which made him one of the richest people in the country. Now he understood why he didn’t seem fazed at all when he paid over 8 million won for the shirts the other day, it was like a spit in the ocean for him.
Taehyung put down his phone, mind reeling with thoughts. He learned from the articles that Jeongguk grew up only with his mother who was in the lead of all those companies before that were mostly founded by her father. That alone was very admirable, it wasn’t common for women to hold so much power especially in the past decades. Jeongguk has been involved in the family business for years, but according to the article, he took over completely just about a year and half ago, after his mother tragically died. There was nothing specific about her death, Jeongguk apparently decided to keep it private and Taehyung didn’t blame him, it was no one’s damn business.
Jeongguk was definitely an interesting person, Taehyung had to give him that.
*
Jeongguk came to the Gucci store three more times, five times in total in just one month. Now, Taehyung knew lots of regulars, but he never experienced anyone coming here so often. Then again, Jeongguk was richer than most of them so he could afford it.
On the fifth visit, Jeongguk wanted to try one jacket that just arrived. It was black bomber with application on the back. In Taehyung’s opinion, it seemed a bit too eccentric for the businessman that always came in dressed in a suit, but then again, Taehyung had no idea how he was dressing up in his free time.
“I really like it, what do you think, Taehyung?” Jeongguk turned around slowly, examining his reflection in the mirror. The jacket looked quite ridiculous paired with the man’s slacks and dress shoes, but Taehyung could easily imagine him in some black jeans and boots and that would be a great look.
“I think it really suits you,” Taehyung nodded, bringing his hands up to Jeongguk’s shoulders to straighten the fabric. He tried his hardest not to squeeze the muscles under his palms, that would be just so damn awkward.
“I saw a nice t-shirt in the window, it was plain white but the material looked good,” Jeongguk said.
“I know what you’re talking about, I’m gonna get it for you,” Taehyung smiled and strolled off. He grabbed the shirt and went back to the changing rooms.
He stopped in his tracks and choked when he looked up and saw Jeongguk outside of his changing room, standing there shirtless.
Taehyung felt his throat run dry, to say that Jeongguk’s torso was nice was a major understatement. It was muscular, not too much but still a lot. His chest was broad and strong, his stomach was toned and his arms were so big and veiny, which was something he has never seen since Jeongguk had always a long sleeved shirt on.
He also immediately noticed tattoos scattered over Jeongguk’s arm, basically creating a sleeve and in the mirror he noticed a big tattoo of a wolf taking most of Jeongguk’s back. He was surprised, he thought business men didn’t do tattoos, but then again, Jeongguk usually wore shirts and suits so it wasn’t visible.
What he also noticed were some pretty ugly looking scars on his back and chest and stomach, which made him instantly curious. How did Jeongguk get them?
“I figured it would go quicker if I was already waiting for the t-shirt,” Jeongguk’s voice brought him back from his thoughts. Only then Taehyung noticed the smirk on the man’s face and he realized that he was probably standing there and staring like an idiot for a minute.
“Yeah, here you go, Jeongguk-ssi,” Taehyung walked to the man and gave him the clothing. Jeongguk slipped it over his head, feeling the material with his palms. Taehyung wanted to do that too, despite knowing well how the material felt, he wanted to feel it on Jeongguk’s frame.
He shook off his thoughts and cleared his throat: “I think it’s a good t-shirt and it will look great under the bomber jacket. If you don’t need me now, I am gonna…um, fold something…”
Before Jeongguk could even reply, Taehyung took off, busying himself with anything he could.
He didn’t notice Jeongguk walking out of the changing rooms and stopping by a stand with shirts. Only when the businessman came to him, Taehyung gave him his attention.
“Um, you are taking this too? It doesn’t seem like your style,” Taehyung looked confusedly at the elder when along with the jacket and the white t-shirt, he handed him also a dark green silky shirt with a lovely pattern.”
“You’re right, it’s not my style, it is a gift.”
“Oh, alright then,” Taehyung nodded and took the items to the cashier since it was before the closing time and no one was here anymore. He tried to ignore the tug in his chest, gifts like this weren’t usually given to friends or family. But of course, what was he thinking, how could someone like Jeongguk be actually single? He was the most in demand bachelor in the city, possibly the whole country, he probably had different date every week.
He packed everything neatly and took Jeongguk’s credit card when he told him it was over ten million won. Then he returned Jeongguk his card and gave him the bag.
Jeongguk reached in the bag and pulled out the green shirt, putting it on the counter in front of Taehyung.
“Did you change your mind about the gift?” Taehyung blinked in surprise.
“No, I am giving it to the new owner,” Jeongguk replied nonchalantly, staring at the younger with sparkles in his eyes.
“W-what?” Taehyung got out as he was slowly processing the words: “Jeongguk-ssi, that’s…I can’t accept that.”
He owned Gucci clothes, but most of it he got for free as kind of the working uniform, or he just bought something in sale and got employee discount on it. But this shirt cost over three million won, he couldn’t accept that.
“It is a gift, I insist,” Jeongguk said with traces of command in his voice and Taehyung immediately knew there was no place for an argument.
“Well, thank you very much,” Taehyung took the shirt in his hands and looked down with a shy smile.
“I do it for selfish reasons though,” Jeongguk leaned with both hands on the counter, leaning towards Taehyung before he continued quietly: “I want you to wear it when you go out for a coffee with me next week.”
Taehyung was just staring at the elder. For what? Did Jeongguk just ask him out? He had to admit that the man had a game, he was so damn smooth, it was hot.
“Like…a date, with me?” Taehyung got out dumbly.
“I told you on our first meeting that Gucci is not really my style, do you really think I came here five times in the past month just to buy clothes?” Jeongguk raised an eyebrow.
“Well…”
“I think you’re handsome, Taehyung, I dare to say exceptionally,” the business man continued: “You have morning shifts next week, right?”
“Yeah, I-I quit at four,” Taehyung breathed out.
“Perfect, meet me at four in front of the store on Monday, we can go to the café across the street so you don’t have to be afraid that I am some creep taking you god knows where. I don’t wanna just get to know you, I wanna discuss something with you.”
“But-“
“Taehyung, just say yes,” Jeongguk interrupted him, looking at him intently: “I am not the type to take no for the answer.”
Taehyung believed it, he could see it in his eyes right now, Jeongguk definitely wasn’t someone that gave up easily, that much was obvious to him. He was still shocked that this handsome and rich man wanted to go out with him, but there was nothing wrong with it, right? Why shouldn’t he accept?
“Alright, let’s have a coffee,” Taehyung eventually nodded.
“Perfect, see you on Monday then and wear that shirt for me, yeah?” Jeongguk gave him a small smirk and just like that, he turned around and left.
Taehyung was just staring at the door in shock. Was he really going on a date with a fucking multimillionaire, what the hell just happened?
