  1. Summary

Contains the fics with worldbuilding structured around my specific variety of FOP metaphysics and magical creature religion headcanons - inspired by Potazel, Potahzel from A New Wish, Plato, and Anathem by Neal Stephenson.
The ships and foci of these fics may end up varying widely, but since they're all set in the same variety of universe, I'm putting them all together here.

Perhaps Lowkey Spoilery Info On Fairly Odd Metaphysics and Magical Creature Religion

Magical creatures tend to believe in a religion called Protoism, which is essentially a religious version of Plato’s Cave. Everything in the universe is simply a Shadow on the walls, and everyone is a Prisoner watching them - except that magical creatures can manipulate them with their magic to get the results they want.

    Highkey Spoilery Protoism

But the universe is a nuclear reactor at the edge of explosion. A Russian Doll of nested Darknesses/Kindnesses have been simulating universes inside each other, being Plato’s Sun. But the changes in A New Wish has pushed them to the limit.

  2. Summary

Norm the Genie chooses to stay, and that proves vastly more pivotal than he could ever have imagined.

(Or: a series about a whole lot of slash ships, the formation of a Crocker-Dimmadome-Cosma-Fairywinkle extended family - and also fairly odd metaphysics, and magical creature religion.)

  3. Summary

Realizing that my tag You Can Thank Potazel Potahzel And Plato For The Basis Of Magical Creature Religion might be a bit cryptic, I’ve decided to lay out the blueprints for the Protoism Multiverse.

Come for the critique of a sterile TikTok-bait song about French fries; stay for the synthesis of Plato’s Allegory of the Cave, Neal Stephenson’s Anathem, and the Thelemic occultism. This is a deep dive into how the chaotic, nonsensical mess of Fairly OddParents canon actually hides a crumbling cosmic simulation—a nuclear reactor at the edge of explosion—and why it’s finally time for a new Aeon to begin.

    Awesome! :D

It is so cute how Norm held Crocker's hand to cloak him magically, and Crocker loved him doing that. I love it. :D

Hehehe I love Norm flirting with Crocker, and being confused about how old he is.

Crocker's so resigned about his life being awful. He has no idea how much better it's about to get, hehehehe

I think your Jorgen characterization makes sense. Jorgen is the guy who showed Timmy the world that was better because Timmy wished not to exist in A Wishful Life, after all, and also, Jorgen's canon characterization - though consistent in some important ways - mostly consists of a few specific tropes and not an attempt to create a cohesive character with a realistic internal life. And what Jorgen did here is not too far off from what he did in The Secret Origin of Denzel Crocker anyway.

    I love this! :D

The way you made the episode Fairy Idol and Norm’s plan in it, and how Norm got found out in your worldbuilding is excellent and it perfectly dealt with all the iffy aspects of the canon episode.

And I love that Norm was so determined to pay Crocker back that he basically was willing to sacrifice his own freedom for it - that is some powerful devotion, but Norm, being Norm, just thinks he was trying to avoid things being awkward the next time he saw Crocker.

Oooh yes! :D I love it!

(And the mention of a "part eight" has me hyped.)

Crocker being bored at this conference he's attended a million times is so highkey relatable, and Norm's solution to it is perfect. I love how mischievous he is, and the tension of Crocker trying to hide how his boyfriend is entertaining him during the conference. It's so hot too, because of said tension.

I'll be onboard for wherever you decide to go with this ship. :D

    Bookmarker's Notes

    Awesome! :D

I'm so thrilled that you decided to write another fic in this series.

The flirting is delightful, and I love that Norm enjoyed Crocker being stronger willed than he'd assumed Crocker would be, since that part came after the part where Crocker basically made it clear that a strong-willed Crocker would not be a threat to Norm's autonomy. Sure, he'd put a paint gag on Norm when flirting with him and say he preferred Norm being pretty over Norm being annoying, but he'd let Norm wash the gag off and keep on saying whatever he likes to him. :P

Your headcanons are a good way of making sense of the sheer mess that FOP canon can be sometimes. Like, in this fandom, people are always playing the game of, "what canon do I keep? What canon do I discard? Which canon do I sorta-but-not-entirely keep?" It's a tradition going back at least twenty years, maybe more.

It's neat how you developed Crocker's family situation into something more nuanced and complex and realistic and relatable than seen in the actual episode. It shows why he behaves the way he does, and gives him a reason for being in conflict in Norm throughout that makes sense, as well as a reason to empathize with Norm. Like recognizes like, after all.

And Crocker not wishing Turner just dead immediately so he can take his fairies because he wants to be the architect of the plan, the one who made it happen, to prove that he could indeed do what he always said he'd do is such a good, angsty motivation for why he was using all those ridiculous plans in Back to the Norm.

The Magical World headcanons and "what genies can and cannot do with their magic" headcanons are fantastic. I love that, in your headcanons, the society of Magical World oppresses genies just as much as the masters do, and are far more of a constraint on them than their lamps. And I love fhat Norm has the bravery to risk defying them anyway.

"A moment of freedom is better than an eternity in prison."

Yeeeessss! :D That is so true, and it's great how you put it so succinctly.

    Bookmarker's Notes

    Awesome! :D

After watching the first season of Fairly OddParents: A New Wish, my FOP hyperfixation came just rushing back at full force, and it thoroughly delighted me to see a Norm/Crocker fic was on the first chronological AO3 page.

The characterizations of Norm and Crocker, and their relationship is spot-on - you've captured the essential tension, the push-and-pull, the exasperated fondness, and the contrasts between the two. And they're adorable. The moment when Norm thought about how beautiful Crocker was made me feel all 😊

I also enjoyed all the innuendo. Crocker blushing when Norm said that Crocker wanted him to come was perfect, hehehe.

And it was hot too! :D

Norm being able to make his erogenous zone whatever he wants it to be lines up very well with my own headcanons too. And I loved Crocker wanting Norm to come inside him, and wanting more and harder from Norm.
