He is, drunk, that is, for sure: like, it’s just one of those things he can tell, like, his inner voice is just, yeah, we’re fucked up while all his outer voice can do is babble, laugh at things that aren’t even that funny; he knows, ‘cause every blink feels slower and heavier than the last, and his bones feel like they’re only a few more drinks away from melting out of his fingertips, but, he doesn’t realize he’s leaning in, like, actually, until Derek turns to look at him, and, wow, okay—Derek’s got, like, really long lashes, pretty eyes, like, girl-pretty, maybe even Lydia-Martin-pretty,
Derek blinks, smiles real slow.
He bites his lip, feels that tell-tale heat creep its way up his neck all the way to his cheeks and ears.
“...said that whole thing out loud, didn’t I?” he asks, rasps, lifting his Four Loko up to take enough sips that it washes out the mortification he feels.
“Yeah,” Derek says, laughs. “Yeah, you kinda did.”

It’s impossible to know how long he’s been here. There’s a method he has to track the days, but, he only started when the days started to mix, started to mess with his head. What he does know is that time... it moves strange, here, and where here is, that’s another mystery all together.
No one knows, no one seems to care. If he had to say... it settles inside of him like New York; not like the sleeplessness of the city, the barely contained life that pulsed against every square inch of the city's boundaries all hours of the day⸻no, this place... it’s like the forgotten stretches of cracked and faded highways that lead into little towns, helpless to the passing years, helpless to their collapse: rural, dilapidated, molasses slow.
They say suicides go to hell, the kind with brimstone and demons, but, perhaps, here, this... this watered-down bleakness, where the days and night mesh together in an endless timeline, and there’s nothing else to do but go through the motions of living...
He throws his cigarette on the ground, unlocks his car.
Maybe this is the real hell, after all.
Sometimes, death is nothing more than a second chance.

Stiles has learned two things in his short but decidedly adventurous life. One, being a teenager sucks ass if you can't even jerk off. Two, being Bruce Wayne is not nearly as cool as it sounds if your appointed Alfred refuses to do what you tell him to. Somehow, though, he still manages to get off in the end.
