“It’s still weird.” Izzie munches on a French fry she just stole from George’s plate as she speaks. “That they have a kid together.”
“And that the kid is polite and normal,” Cristina adds, also taking a fry from George, who shakes his head and pushes his plate towards the both of them as he gets out his wallet to go order a new serving. “Like how do Satan and McDreamy manage to get a well-balanced child?”
“Maybe they’re two opposite kinds of crazy, which balance each other out,” Izzie suggests. They’re staring at the tableau at the other end of the cafeteria, where Addison Montgomery is handing off her daughter to Derek Shepherd, who is on the phone the entire time she tries to talk to him. Meredith is standing next to him and paying attention to Addison instead, nodding as she listens.
“The weirdest part is that they make Meredith look like the stable parent in that nightmare of a love triangle,” Alex adds.
“You’re not seriously suggesting Montgomery is still in love with Shepherd, are you?” Izzie asks, and Alex laughs.
