It's a study that he conducts with a focus Megumi rarely sees in the other when they're not fighting or practicing.

Marco is facing away from me in the galvanized silver tub, washing his arms. His long legs are folded up against his chest, and the back of his neck is covered in goosebumps. When I enter the room proper, he glances over one sudsy, freckled shoulder and offers me a tired smile. I manage to return it, though I’m feeling just as weary, then bend over to plant a kiss to the top of his head. His hair is wet, but his scalp bleeds warmth into my lips; when I pull away, my smile is a little more genuine.
