After the events of the Boiling Rock, the Gaang goes to a mountain next to a village to rest. Zuko and Sokka go to a village to get supplies, but are intercepted by Firebenders and separated from the group. A canon rewrite with Zukka - not changing many elements of the finale
Basically a passion project - who knew writing so much could take so long? Just for fun :)

Summary
Sokka is grievously wounded while on a mission with Zuko to expose a traitor amongst his council, leading to them hiding out in a cave while Zuko tries to keep Sokka alive and figure out how to get them both back to the palace safely.
Sokka is perhaps a little too honest near death, and vulnerable conversations ensue that force the two to confront things they've been dodging since they were teenagers.

If he was being completely honest, Zuko would say they had no idea what they were doing half the time. Perhaps even more than that.
Each and every time they ended up in each other's bed (or closets, washrooms, etcetera), they didn't know their actions would lead to that very moment. But every time, without fail, they did.
Or
Zuko and Sokka have been sleeping together since they were twenty, and other than the two of them, absolutely no one knew.

Summary
Sokka and Suki come to Zuko one day saying "We'd like to have sex with you" and "It's okay if you refuse" like he hasn't been fantasizing of it since they met.
He's still discovering new things about himself- the way kneeling at Mai's feet calm his heart, how skirts make his stomach flutter with euphoria, the thing he's recently admitted to himself, where good boy and being called pretty make him flush all over.
The good thing about fucking your friends is that they already know how to read you.
