“Just a friend. Someone from work,” Jeongin says, shrugging with one shoulder.
“What’s their name?” Seungmin asks. He’s trying hard to mask the shock in his voice. His discomfort is probably as clear as day on his face—he can practically feel his eye twitching. But luckily—or unluckily—Jeongin doesn’t look up from his phone to notice. He’s still texting.
“Beomgyu,” Jeongin answers.
Beomgyu.
Seungmin nods, and looks out the window as the streets fly by them in a blur.

“You’re not gonna lose me,” Chan says, but Jisung's too drunk for this, and the thought just makes him feel sick and scared and he closes his eyes, unable to bear the discussion anymore.
“I love you,” is all he can say.
Or: Jisung and Chan have a fight. When Jisung drinks too much, Chan comes to drive him home, and Jisung drunkenly confesses some things, and promptly forgets them in the morning.

Summary
Stray Kids debuts as the first co-ed group under JYP, featuring four male members—Chan, Lee Know, Seungmin, and I.N—and four female members—Chaebin, Hyunjin, Han, and Felix. In the interest of protecting the group from scandal and backlash, all of the members follow their leader's strict rules, the first and firmest of which has always been that there is to be no dating within the group.
Years after their debut, the members begin to break the rules.

Jeongin is a fool.
He’s a fool for thinking a Ferris wheel would be fun. He’s honestly the clumsiest person he knows, even including his dad, and his heart is now hammering looking at the ground hundreds of feet below him, and all the tiny people walking around Lotte World. It’s a miracle he hasn’t lost a shoe already. He’ll be lucky if he doesn’t slip out of his seat and go careening to his death before the ride is over.
Especially because Jeongin is sitting next to Jisung, who is apparently a thousand times more terrified.

“What?” Seungmin breathes. She can count Minhee’s eyelashes when they’re this close together. She can barely think.
“This top, sweetheart,” Minhee says, using that infuriating word again, like it doesn’t make Seungmin’s fingertips prickle with the need to touch, or her lips ache with the urge to beg.
“Um,” she mumbles. “Bought it for myself. A long time ago.”
“And never wore it?”
“How do you know I never wore it?” Seungmin asks. Bratty without really thinking about it, because that’s what comes easiest when it comes to Minhee and Seungmin.
“Because I’d remember,” Minhee says simply.

Felix’s jaw drops. “She was using you when she liked her bandmate all along?” he demands.

“What?” Felix asks, as the words are still processing in his mind. Then, he drops his voice to a whisper, heart skipping a beat. “What?”

Felix shudders as Chris’s fingers run through his bangs, gently pushing his hair out of his eyes. They’ve only known each other a few weeks, and here Felix is, laying in Chris’s bed not for the first time. Asking Chris to bend the rules for him, and Chris immediately agreeing. There had been an instant connection between them, yes. But Felix doesn’t know if he’s worth all this. He doesn’t know why Chris thinks he’s worth all this.

Summary
Despite the destruction, the mall is a welcome escape from the chilly winds outside, and Minho seems content to wander. He seems to know, as Seungmin does, that it’s unlikely they’ll find food or anything helpful here. Supplies dwindle, the longer they resist the outbreak, with every day that Seungmin and Minho escape death’s grasp.
Though they’ve stopped running, Minho hesitates for a long while before he lets go of Seungmin’s hand.
They wander past an electronics store, televisions and speakers sitting uselessly like old expensive bricks on the shelves, when Seungmin absently picks up a camcorder. He hits the power button, expecting nothing.
It turns on.
