Summary
When Powder was five years old, the city of Beaver Springs installed a streetlight on the road across from her bedroom window. The curtains her father put up, curtains her mother had embroidered scenes from Bible stories on, did almost nothing to block the light. She had cried and cried, unable to sleep at night. The light was too bright. Her parents insisted she was being dramatic, that she should just close her eyes, fall asleep, be a good little boy.
Except. Except even at five, Powder had known she wasn't a boy.

Summary
She's sitting in what passes as Vi's living room, in what could almost be called an apartment at the very edge of Zaun. Far enough from Piltover that she doesn't have to worry about enforcers busting down the door.
Other than Vi.
Strictly speaking, Jinx isn't supposed to be here. Vi doesn't know she knows Vi lives here, or if she does, she's trying very hard to pretend she doesn't. Not locking her front door when she leaves for work in the morning would be a very dumb thing to do otherwise, not that Vi has much worth stealing to begin with. A small couch, a fridge with nothing in it except beer and a sputtering motor on it's last legs, and a bed. Not the most comfortable bed, but it usually smells like Vi, so it's fine.

No, Jinx decided. The river was too risky, not a sure enough end. Her dorm, a stolen knife. Release. That would be better, would be true. She stayed on the bridge though, somewhere between at peace and terrified - terrified of Vi, peacefully moving on, without her anymore.
