This takes place right after the end of Varrick and Zhu Li's wedding but before the ending of the show. I don't accept that Korra and Asami never had the girlfriend conversation so here is how I thought it would go. You are Korra in this scenario.

Summary
The solitude is what truly scared her. It scares her still. Presses on her chest until she can't breathe. It leadens her limbs, phantom pains reminding her of the endless nights she spent at the bottom of every bottle. The sorry little box spring she called a bed rigid but familiar.
It's all so stark from the satin or bamboo silk that caresses her skin now. The soft luxury not a shield from the memories but it's becoming a comfort for the nights where she wakes in a cold sweat, the room fuzzy around the edges so her mind almost gets away with the trick. That she's back down there, or she wakes with the smell of blood in her nose, the crimson smattered and oozing from an eye that will never see again. That is, until she takes a full breath, hand blindly reaching out until she touches smooth warmth–
Sometimes, the depths of her own affections frightens her. How she wishes to crawl inside this woman's skin, nestle herself behind her ribs. Call that place home as long as she's allowed.
She makes do with burying her nose in Caitlyn's hair, both arms wrapping around her until there isn't a part of their bodies not touching.

Summary
Back when I watched the end of episode 8 of the first season of Arcane, and when none of us knew we’d be waiting three long years for season 2, I couldn’t stop replaying that final scene. Vi disappears into the rain, Caitlyn is left drenched on the Council steps, and the night seems to slam shut around them. I kept wishing Vi would turn back, that they’d steal even a moment of peace in each other’s arms.
So I wrote the moment myself. What follows is a canon-adjacent “missing scene” that slips between episode 8 and everything else. Nothing in the larger story changes; this is simply the breath I wanted them to take, a night where Vi returns, the rain becomes a backdrop instead of a barrier, and the two of them move from heartbreak to hesitant intimacy, told through twin viewpoints and all the emotional knots tangled in the chaos.
It started as a way to cope after season one ended and soothe my own heart; I'm sharing it for those who feel the same.Bookmarked by mxhoodie
