“I couldn’t exactly leave you to your own devices. You claim to have no plans, but on your own, I’m sure you could come up with something.”
Annatar let out a quick huff of air, the smallest look of annoyance crossing his face, but it was quick and half-hearted. In all the months they’d been here, Celebrimbor had repeatedly asked him what he planned to do next and he had continuously told him he didn’t know. Perhaps he really was telling the truth. He shut his eyes for a few moments and drew in a deep breath. When he opened them again he looked at him steadily – hope bloomed softly in that golden gaze as Celebrimbor gave him a gentle smile.
“Is that the only reason you stayed?” Annatar asked, no more than a whisper.
Annatar does not forge the One Ring, but he attacks Eregion nonetheless. After he carries Celebrimbor out of the burning city, they end up in a small village in a long, cold winter, trying to figure out where they go from here.

“When it starts to get dark, will you…wait for me?” he asked softly.
“Sure, Curvo,” he answered.
Curufin smiled tightly at him and then pressed a quick kiss to his cold lips. As he turned to go back inside, Celegorm called after him, a very clear hint of amused curiosity in his voice.
“Do I get a hint?”
Curufin paused, turned back to him and very slowly and deliberately raked his gaze up Celegorm’s body, met his eyes with a look of hunger and then shook his head. He smirked a bit at the flush he saw blooming on his brother’s cheeks, and he knew it was not from the cold.
“No,” he answered quietly, threw him another pointed look and then went back inside.
Curufin makes himself pretty for his big brother.

Celegorm and Curufin live together in a house on the outskirts of a forest. Celebrimbor lives with Annatar/Sauron somewhere in Aule's lands.
