    Bonded Omega pair Simon Fisher and Tom Ryder have to find an Alpha to help Tom out during his heats after finding out he's allergic to every suppressant on the market and his heats have gotten more and more painful. They get directed to an agency, where they pick out Ryland Grace due to his easy-going nature. Thanks to Simon's tendencies to get possessive of his mates well being, it's for the best. So is the fact that Simon decides to not take part and just allow this alpha to help Tom through his heat and take suppressants himself so he can be there if Tom needs. Though, it seems his plan may not work out the way he thought it would.

    "I- i don't know, my name is the only thing I could keep, i like being called Simon, but.. i'm a woman."

    She'd never said it out loud, certainly didn't think she'd ever have to. Simon thought she'd be buried with it one day, in a casket of blood or within the grove, maybe even drifting off in the vastness of space, she truly thought she'd die with that revelation on her tongue, unseen and unheard, forever. Instead she looks on as Grace brightens under her gaze, nodding gently with that gorgeous smile on her face. Seeing someone so kind and tender with her, so open, as if the thought to challenge or mock her hadn't once crossed the other's mind. It mends something long broken within Simon's chest.

    “How… did you leave?” Driver can’t help but ask. He’s been wondering since he woke up.

    Ryland tilts his head in confusion. “…Through the front door?” He gestures at said door with his thumb. Driver barely manages to not roll his eyes.

    “No, I mean—” He huffs, begging for words to work with him for once. “I mean, how were you able to leave while I was… like that?”

    “Ah,” Ryland’s confusion melts away to painful understanding and frustration.

     

    Driver goes into an unexpected heat, which he hasn't had in years. He can deal with it himself. He doesn't need any help. He doesn't trust anyone, let alone an alpha, to help him through a heat. And he certainly doesn't trust the overly sweet, awkward alpha he kind of became friends with when he moved in six months ago. No, definitely not him.

    He reiterates, worry making him frantic. He doesn’t want to startle Simon, but if he doesn’t do something quick there’s a risk of the thorns getting clotted in his palm, or infection, or-

    Simon jolts, and Ryland instantly feels guilty for yelling.

    Simon is new to the biodome, and does not understand his saviour's ever flowing grace for him.
    Ryland is concerned he's frightening the only other person around for lightyears, and doesn't get why the guy's so terrified of him.
