Was he just paranoid? Was he so far gone that he was just imagining things? Maybe, but Thomas kept praying, focusing on the words of his prayer, as he swore something stood right next to his bed. All he could hear, however, was the clock, the beeping and whirring of the monitors, and the sound of his own labored breaths in the darkness.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against-
He let out a choked sound as a hand covered his mouth, tilting his head to the side, and something sharp latched onto his neck, digging into his flesh.

Thomas’ cancer returns, but someone prevents his death by turning him into a vampire. Unsure of how to navigate this new life, he seeks out Vincent Benitez to help find the vampire that turned him.

“You haven’t seen all of the Basilica yet, have you?” He asked the Pope.
“No, not besides where we celebrate and get ready for mass,” Vincent explained. “Especially not while all of the tourists are around.”
Tonight, though, the Basilica was near empty, besides the rehearsing choir and a handful of priests, nuns, and coordinators flitting around the space to prepare. It was a rare peaceful evening in the grand cathedral.
Thomas looked around for a second, then back at Vincent, a mischievous glint in his eye.
“Follow me,” he said.

He had not expected Ray to be so chatty when he came to see him, but it pleased him all the same. Hopefully, Vincent thought to himself, their conversations will continue to be warmer from now on.
“I don’t think their young ones quite understand what I do for work, see,” continued Ray. “My sister told them I work for the church, and their imaginations got a little creative.” he directed Vincent over to the cork board full of papers. Vincent realized that they weren’t documents, but rather a collection of crudely drawn pictures of Ray and… Jesus?
Vincent couldn’t hold in his laugh.
