I will be over at the station in a bit.” Light assured his father, absently noticing the way his voice had habitually returned to the soft spoken, sweet tones his family was used to. He’d been told he would have been an incredible actor or a phenomenal politician, if only it weren’t for-
“Very well. Please take a cab, Light, it’s been raining all day. It’s too slippery for you to venture out to the station by yourself, even with Winston next to you. Who knows what could happen” Yes, he would have been an amazing actor, politician or whatever else he would have put his mind to, if only it hadn’t been for the disability everyone loved to remind him of. Trying to ignore the unpleasant returning tension in his chest, Light tightened his grip on Winston’s harness. He was going to meet L again, after so many years…He didn’t know what he even hoped for.
For the detective to recognize him or treat him like a complete stranger. Whatever happened, he would just have to wait and see.
