Lena and Maggie were kicked out by their parents, so they live at Leslie's place. Their senior year at National High has finally arrived and Lena's taken aback when a walking sunshine approaches her with the request to be friends, which she assumes is a joke.
Kara is a junior at National High who just wants to fit in and make at least one friend. Of course she walks up to the first girl she sees with a bright smile on her face, hoping to make a friendly impression. Adapting to earth is still a struggle for her.

“Hi, Sam,” Kara greeted brightly with a large smile. In the short time she’d known Sam Arias, she’d genuinely gotten to like her. She was fun, witty, very laidback and, aside from being friends with Andrea, seemed to have a really good ability to read people. She turned her eyes to Lena. “Hi. I just wanted to introduce myself; I’m Kara Danvers.”
She extended her free hand out for Lena to shake, as if that was a normal thing for high school girls to do. Lena’s eyes flitted down to the hand then back up to Kara’s face and she bit back a smirk.
“Oh, I know exactly who you are, Miss Danvers,” she replied.
Kara wasn’t sure if that was a good or bad thing.

After getting second place in the Washington Open with an incredible shot that won her some fame, Kara Danvers got an invite to the biggest tennis tournament in the United States. The US Open.
Despite her small 15 minutes of fame granted by her shot, Kara Danvers was a relatively new name in the pro world, so Kara had absolutely no Idea why Lena Luthor, the number one player in the tour, found her interesting of all people.
