Xie Lian stared at him. One of the employees that had helped her a few weeks ago had been called Yin something, she was pretty sure, but that’s about as far as she could follow what was happening here. “Yizhen, if you don’t know Hua Cheng, why is this… notable?”
“He’s famous. Or like. The bad one. Infamous. I thought—” His eyes gleamed. “I thought maybe you fought him.”

But the truth is that she doesn't pay much attention to it either: the mysterious entity doesn't bother her, doesn't throw things at the walls, or write threats in blood on the mirrors, and Xie Lian has no problem leaving a few knick-knacks lying around to thank her for her cooperation, for being a good supernatural being who doesn't bother her any more than necessary to satisfy her inhuman curiosity. From homemade sweets with her mother's recipe (even if they look like tiny lumps of charcoal with too much sugar) that disappear completely, to intentionally leaving books and crossword magazines on the coffee table in the entrance hall for the supernatural being to entertain herself while she comes home from work.
The cohabitation is peaceful, practically one-sided. At least, at first.Or, Xie Lian moves into a new flat where, apparently, there is a supernatural entity. Not that it's a problem for her. At least until the supernatural entity turns out to be a beautiful subcubus demon, Hua Cheng, and Xie Lian is just a human. A pretty horny human.
