Summary
Sirius stared at the dark green and silver that adorned nearly every surface of the room, those decorations had been there longer than he remembered. They used to fill him with pride, at his future, at his family’s past. Now staring at silver snakes stitched into the canopy of his bed he couldn’t feel anything but dread at the future etched into every fiber of his being.
Sirius Black was eleven years and nine months old, he was going to Hogwarts, and whether he wanted to be or not, he was going to be in Slytherin.

Remus lay there helpless and let himself cry. His thin frame shook with sobs because he’d forgotten. He wanted so badly to be normal that he’d forgotten what he was, and now he didn’t need his father’s ever present warning to remind him because he remembered.
Remus John Lupin was a werewolf, a monster. He could never have friends, and he could never be normal.

“I’m not trying to,” Harry lies, finally tearing his eyes away; he looks out the window in a desperate attempt to get a single thought into his head that isn’t what the fuck.
“Look,” Malfoy says. “It’s not like I’m telling you that you have to be a part of its life. I only-”
“How do you know it’s mine?” The question is out of his mouth before Harry can think better of it, and he immediately regrets it because of the way Malfoy’s face shutters, turns cold.
