Before the plague, he didn't have children, and didn't plan to-- not for a while, anyway. Now, whenever Murky comes home, she brings him a bundle of various flowers and herbs, shoving them into his hands without a word before rushing off to her bedroom.
Speaking of Murky, another thing he noticed is just how neglected she was. Of course, he had noticed this from the moment they first met, but he had never taken much of a note of it; she wasn't his responsibility, after all. There were bigger fish to fry.
And now, well... his family is the biggest part of his life. He notices the shifts in Daniil's emotions, worries for when he's not acting the same. He notices when his words are too harsh on Sticky, and makes effort to apologize.
And as of late, he has certainly noticed that it has at least been a year or so since a brush was last used on Murky's hair, and Boddho knows how long it's been since the poor girl was bathed.

A small, rickety old house in the middle of Iowa was not what he expected, but Amanda has an old friend there, Winona Kirk, that invited her to stay over for a few weeks. The least expected thing, however, was how hard he fell in love with Winona Kirk's son, James Kirk.
Years later, Spock finds himself in a particularly interesting situation when he discovers that James Kirk is going to Starfleet Academy with him.
