Premise:What if they needed an alternate rugby player and Coach Singh picked him for his speed and then he made friends with Christian Sai and Otis on his own but also ... still love at first "hi" with Nick Nelson (who plays for St. Johns).
Angst: low ... season 1 level or less
Burn: the whole storyDelights: So freaking cute. I cannot freaking even. Well written and (I presume) accurate as to the Rugby (with funny little comments). Adorable Insta chats and Tao still thinks Nick is the straightest person ... but also still comes to all Charlie's rugby matches. What do I love: Oh all of it. Charlie not knowing about sports, Nick thinking he's great at rugby. Charlie being secretly great at rugby (but realistically) Otis Sai and Christian being total sweeties. More Coach Singh time. Funny AF.

Type: AU ish (everyone meets differently
Purpose: Processing biphobia and homophobia in the Church of England ... and sweethearts in love
Age: 20's
Premise: Nick and Charlie meet through their teaching jobs. Nick knows he's crushing but comes off as *danger straight sporty lad.* Charlie's deep in a really unhealthy relationship with Ben but eventually Nick's love is enough to bust him out of it and re-frame his world view.
Angst: Mid to high ... not because of DARKEST timeline or most damaged selves but just ... reality based challenges that make your heart hurt.
Burn: super slow ... but they get to lovey smut eventuallyDelights: Beautifully written ... thoroughly plotted. Slow burn and just so much Nick pining. Hard to read at times because it gets into 1) ben being awful 2) david being awful 3) internalized and external homophobia associated with religions. But just such a sweet, EARNED relationship between adult Nick and Charlie. A really complete and well developed world. In character everyone in slightly shifted situations. Completely engrossing - I was just ROOTING so hard for them in this.
Kind of heartbreaking that it stops where it does. Please come back and finish!

The boy’s loose t-shirt ripples in a salty gust of wind as he fishes for a pen in the waiter’s apron tied around his waist. He frowns in confusion for a moment, his fingers clearly finding nothing in there, before he remembers with a chuckle to himself and reaches up to retrieve the pen from behind his ear, dislodging another errant curl from his headband. Premise: Super sweet "one" shot where Charlie is a waiter in a Spanish resort town and Nick is there with a bunch of mates who are dicks but and embarrass him. But Nick and Charlie connect and have a night on the beach.
Angst: Medium. Mostly Nick struggling with letting himself have nice things when he knows he's bi and so do his friends but CompHet is still powerfulDelights: So, so sweet. They just ... like each other in every universe.

I feel like it really speaks to his inner anxieties. Also screamingly funny at times. Sarah gives them "the talk." Charlie going over to her house on a sick day when Jane sends him to school. The boys sniping and loving each other. Their friends all roasting them constantly. All of it. All of it.

Summary
For the longest time, Nick Nelson and Tao Xu had been at odds. In the social hierarchy of Truham, they were by nature born to be diametrically opposed. Nick was the golden boy, rugby king. Tao was the insufferable nerd, never to be caught dead at a party. They had no reason to cross paths- that was, until Charlie. Unspokenly, Tao and Nick decided to be friendly- but never friends.
That all kinda changed when Charlie was committed to the psychiatric hospital. Turns out they need each other more than they think.
