Ivan wondered if Lane knew how much this meant to him. How just wearing his number made him fall deeper in love with him. He’d never admit it. Maybe not to Lane’s face. He just hoped he knew.

    Or

Lane steal’s Ivan’s Habs hoodie and the author lost the plot mid way through

    "Ollie?"

It broke past the wall that muffled his surroundings. His own name, that voice, a life ring chucked out to help his flailing body in hopes he could grapple it and fight the waves, hanging onto the buoyancy to keep him afloat long enough to be dragged back to the foam-kissed shore.
"Esteban." He croaked out, throat parched.

"Ollie, what are you doing here?" Esteban was in front of him, concern woven into his features, eyelashes knitted together with worry, "You should be at the hotel, yes?"

"I should— erm, someone was meant to take me, I think? I— well— I still don't feel that good."

    ---

Or: post-race, post-crash, Esteban looks after Ollie.

    Summary

Here's the thing that most don't know about when it comes to these kinds of things. There's so many people around the world who are spiritually in tune yet not everyone is a clairvoyant. Quinn’s family are just one of those unlucky ones that have the ability and the thing with clairvoyants is that their spiritual energy is a mirror of the dead’s.

Ellen had taught Quinn and his little brothers at a young age that they shouldn't, by any means, go through a ghost no matter what. Especially after what happened to Luke when he was five years old.

Their abilities came with repercussions. It was basic respect. They could see and interact with these more often than not lonely spirits. Going through them like they weren't real people was just rude and apparently dangerous for the clairvoyants themselves.

Or; the Hughes are being haunted by a ghost but so is the rest of the league.

Was beyond disappointed in the way the devils fans acted in that arena. Couldn’t be more baffled at the idea of a team booing their own player. Grown ass adults shitting on a 22 year old for making a mistake in an incredibly complex sport, as if they don’t have trouble climbing up a few steps. Hope the team and especially Luke and learn and grow from his and move on.
