Sirius Black hadn’t deserved to die, but when he looked down at the Graves that he so rarely visited, his own seemed to be missing. Amongst all of the people who he’d fought alongside, he was the last person who should’ve survived.
He never picked himself back up. He struggled through the days, wishing for them to end.
Or: Sirius is the last survivor of the friends he used to have after Voldemort was defeated in their last year at Hogwarts. He struggles through life until a boy much like himself shows up at his door, asking if he can stay the night after his parents kicked him out.
