Sirius can't leave his goddaughter Harriet alone in the destroyed cottage, it's too dangerous, even if the Headmaster is probably on his way right now. But he also can't wait any longer, Peter's apparition trail is starting to fade, and he needs to catch the traitorous rat, needs to kill him.

Sirius' parents are dead, and Grimmauld Place is empty.
