The summer heat is nearly unbearable. Every second that Mira spends out here is a second she gets angrier, and she can feel a blisteringly hot rage steadily building up in her chest.

“Mira, I’ve got it!” Zoey opened the door to Mira’s room. Mira looked up lazily. She was strumming on the guitar.
“Got what?”
“I know why Rumi’s so shy.”
“Yeah, I’ve got an idea too.”
“She’s trans!”
“Ace.” They said their conclusions simultaneously.
Zoey tilted her head. “Oh, that could make sense too.”

Summary
"Come on, demon scum,” Zoey bounces on the balls of her feet. practically vibrating as she shifts from side to side and wipes the blood from beneath her nose. Her smile is sharp. just as clear as it was an hour ago when they had started. “You call that a hit?”
Or. Rumi clutches her hands to her sides, letting her claws dig into her palm. Celine watches her with a softening expression, taking a breath before letting it out.
“Oh Rumi” she says, cupping her cheek, the warmth of her palm sinking into her skin.
“Don’t ruin these young girls' lives. Leave them alone. They have a whole world ahead of them” Celine pulls away and heads for the door but at the last moment she turns to look back at her, “don’t let your selfishness be the thing that kills them”
or. What if Celine hadn't turned Rumi into a hunter? what if she had seen the abomination of a child that had been left to her and thought she might as well turn her into something useful.
and then set off to find the next generation of hunters.

“Hera,” Ahsoka greeted warmly. “I owe you many thanks for the rescue.”
“Nonsense, it was on the way!” Hera waved her hand in a way she hoped looked casual. How could Ahsoka be so calm after this?! How was she always so level, and how did her presence make Hera feel like a babbling rookie. “Do you need anything? A med-kit? Some rations?”
“No, no,” Ahsoka smiled. “Thank you, but rest and meditation is all I need.”
OR
Ahsoka needs a pick-up after her mission goes awry, and she ends up staying a few days with the Ghost Crew. Ahsoka has problems accepting help.
