Summary
Mickey is a nurse, and a damn good one. Sure, he has a soft spot for certain patients, but he remains ever the professional. After all, it’s a job. But when a patient waiting on a heart transplant, a face from his very distant past, crawls his way under Mickey’s skin, he’s pretty sure he’ll never be the same again.

Summary
The first day he draws a bath which he thinks no one has done in this house in years, and then he sinks his head under, closing his eyes and listening to the sound of his own blood whooshing in his ears. The second he looks at his phone, opening up the call history and scrolling back a couple of weeks to when it first began; all of it bleeding red. Mick (4). Mick (2). Mick (5). Mick (2)

Summary
Ian knew how things would go if he stayed: he wouldn’t be able to keep his distance for long and would turn into an eternal mistress, a dark and dirty secret that nobody would ever acknowledge loving. Not even Mickey, who part of him still believed just might. Hoped just might.
But it didn’t matter. None of that mattered anymore. He’d left home, and he wasn’t going back.
It was time to forget.
It was time to live.
