Freminet's fall downward isn't a spiral, it feels more like he took a misstep and started tripping down familiar stairs quite the many years ago, dropping his memories somewhere along the way.

A one-shot story I got the idea of after theorizing with my friend about how we thought the ending of the game could go. We originally just joked around about Traveler holding out his hand to Abyss Twin after an intense battle and being like “I’ll forgive you. Home is wherever we are together.” Then it evolved.
Alternatively; I joked with my friend about it probably going to be a classic hero saves the day ending, and then I took it seriously.
