Summary
“You know, when you’re drowning you don’t actually inhale until right before you black out. It’s called voluntary apnea. It’s like no matter how much you’re freaking out, the instinct to not let any water in is so strong that you won’t open your mouth until you feel like your head’s exploding. Then when you finally do let it in, that’s when it stops hurting. It’s not scary anymore, it’s actually kind of peaceful.”
One step to the future, half step and thousand considerations to move back. Hands reaching out, trying to resurface from the unlimited darkness of the water. If it’s about surviving, isn’t a little agony worth it?

Summary
Taking her cold hand in his warm ones, he held it softly, radiating the warm feeling and spreading it like a pollen. “If I were a time traveller, I would try to prevent you meeting whoever your first client was, so you wouldn’t become his underling. You could be as free as the bird waking me up every morning.”
“Then what? Asking me to join the force?”
“Nope,” he smiled at her accusation while bringing her hand to his lips, kissing her knuckles one by one like spelling every star in the sky. “So, I can have you entirely.”

小鳥 (jo tori) - a small bird
.
.
Every time Hawks stood in front of the mirror and saw through it, he could see a reflection of a little child standing beside him; little red wings curled on his back, expressionless kid with chubby cheeks and round face.
Except this time he didn’t have to face the mirror anymore.
