The realtor’s smile faltered almost imperceptibly. She shifted her weight and glanced toward the house before hesitantly looking back at him. “The house has been on the market for years,” she said carefully. “I couldn’t tell you why the last owner left, but it appears the house has a high turnover rate.” Her fingers tightened slightly around the clipboard tucked against her side. “Once someone moves in, they don’t stay for very long.”
OR: On the verge of losing his apartment, Xie Lian jumps at the opportunity to purchase a beautiful old Victorian home for a fraction of what it’s worth. After a series of strange occurrences, Xie Lian begins researching the property's history. He quickly discovers that one name keeps appearing: Hua Cheng. An eighteen-year-old young man who died in the house nearly a century ago.

Summary
The sound which leaves Hua Cheng’s lips this time isn't nearly feral, it /is/ feral, the fury of a wild beast confronted with a mortal foe. Before he can lift so much as a hand to stop him Hua Cheng jerks away from Xie Lian and lunges for Fang Xin, snatching it from the floor and raising it high above his head. The god feels the sudden gathering of Hua Cheng’s power, his spiritual energy as a ghost king, already some of the most powerful in the three realms, now augmented by whatever strange energy is flowing through him.

“Ah, I’m sorry Your Majesty… I wasn't paying attention,” He felt embarrassed saying that out loud, but what was he supposed to do? He felt like he was about to faint.
“It’s ok Xian Le,” Jun Wu said with a placating smile, letting go of Xie Lian’s elbow and Xie Lian felt himself relaxing instantly, “You are free to decline this mission, and I will assign it to someone else.”
“I can handle it.” Xie Lian said almost automatically.
“Very well. I need you to go to Ghost City and look for any clues about Hua Cheng’s weaknesses. He has been causing too much trouble lately and we can’t risk having him around anymore.”
Xie Lian felt the pulsating feeling on his head again, “Hua Cheng?” He asked under his breath.
Or: Xie Lian is assigned with the important task of finding a way to disperse Hua Cheng, only… He can’t bring himself to do it, even if it was an order from Jun Wu himself.
