    Lan Wangji hissed, closing his eyes for a moment before forcing himself to look back at his husband. The sting from the blade was bearable but combined with his injured arm twisted back, it was difficult to hide the pain in his eyes. Not that it would have worked anyway, Wei Ying knew every line of his face, knew all of his expressions, no matter how small.

    Wei Ying’s eyes darkened as his hand settled on Chenqing. “Lower your dagger or you won’t leave this forest alive."

    Or, 5 times Wei Wuxian protected his loved ones and one time Lan Wangji protected him.

    When Wei Ying died, he really did believe it was for the best.

    It had been months in the making—years if he was being honest. His resolve to live was like a cliffside that the ocean’s waves beat against again and again and again. And he did try, really, to live. He tried so hard, that was the worst part. He had tried so hard to live that, when he finally did make the decision to die, the only thing he regretted was all of the wasted effort he had put into pretending like everything would one day be alright.

    That he would wake up one day and feel okay.

    That he wasn’t irrevocably damaged beyond repair.

    Wei Ying commits suicide only to wake up 13 years later in another man's body.

    “No, I heard that. But–” Wei Ying glances at the extremely pretty man, who’s just staring at him, completely still. His empty hands hover in the air. “I don’t need anyone to take care of me. I just wanna go home."

    “You are going home,” Yanli reaches over and tucks his hair behind his ear, giving him a tiny smile. “Don’t worry. Just a few more scans, and then Lan Zhan can take you back."

    “Who’s Lan Zhan?” he asks.

    The pretty man by his side inhales so sharply Wei Ying feels the air get sucked out of the room.

    Wei Ying gets in a traffic accident and loses six years of his memories, including meeting and marrying the love of his life. This is the story of how he falls back in love with Lan Zhan: quickly, and inevitably.

    He begins to thumb past it, until the first few lines of text show up: Cerulean blue, snow white – match these colours to save a man’s life!

    Or: Wei Ying, rookie architect and chronically unable to prioritize his love life, in a moment of madness turns out to be tested for compatibility with famous new entertainer Lan Zhan, struggling with the after-effects of chemo. Unexpectedly matched with a man on a very different career trajectory, he's presented with a litany of unappealing choices. Oh, and also love.
