Lan Wangji broke his skin with his nails. Relishing the low hiss the bunny voiced. Then, he pulled away and sniffed his blood covered fingertips. The smell was divine, a more potent version of the omega’s natural scent. He’d be able to track it easily now, so long as the wound he left didn’t heal.
The bunny took a step away and licked his lips, “If it’s bunnies you’re after, we have a few hanging around. I’m afraid I’m off the table.”
Lan Wangji glared hard. He hadn’t misunderstood, had he? The omega let him mark his arm. He hadn’t even mentioned it after he pulled away. What was he playing at?
The bunny glanced to the side. Lan Wangji followed his lead and saw Wen Xu drinking his fill across the floor.
“You see, I’m Wen Xu’s bitch, so you’ll have to choose someone else to accompany you tonight. I hope you have a very pleasurable stay!”

Summary
"Is that something that Wei Ying would like?" Lan Wangji asks softly, carefully, "To be kept?"
There's that fleeting, lost look in Wei Ying's eyes once more, and Lan Wangji thinks it's unacceptable - That Wei Ying had not felt welcomed in his own home, so much so that he decided to wander the world away from it. So much so that he is afraid that he would be unwelcome as well elsewhere.
Lan Wangji barely stops himself from hissing, from letting the steam of his icy breath escape in the close air between them. He only vaguely remembers the Jiangs, a young Cultivation Clan barely a century old, but his disdain towards them feels ancient now in the wake of all this. How foolish of them, to simply let go of someone so bright, someone so unfailingly kind and giving.
How convenient, for Lan Wangji's own gain.

Summary

Summary
Wei Wuxian presents as an omega just over a month after they arrive for the Cloud Recesses lectures.
The thing is... no one expected him to actually be an omega, and his presentation is, in a word, messy. Feral omegas aren't natural, not as far as those in power are concerned, and they certainly aren't meant to cultivate alongside alphas and betas.
They definitely aren't supposed to form a fractured bond with an alpha like Lan Wangji, who does not handle the situation well in the moment, and is then forced to watch the aftermath his actions cause. Meanwhile, Wei Wuxian struggles to come to terms with what it means to be an omega, and how it feels to be rejected by the only person your soul has ever cried out for.
