Legs going soft as Law shifted to lean into Rosi, softly placing his hands over the long thighs. Looking up and confirming his time had come.

Beyond the skeletal silhouettes of dying maples, a dark, primeval wood clung to the edges of a city pulsing with life. Some of the younger vampires and mortals, for that matter had long traded shadow for steel and glass, thriving in the metropolis’s neon glow, where power and wealth beckoned like a blood‑red lure. Yet others preferred silence.
Deep within the ancient forest, the eldest among the undead tended to moss lined groves and silent clearings, keeping the woodland immaculate. Their care preserved more than greenery: it wove an illusion of safety for the creatures that dwelled there and spun a web of disorientation around any mortal who dared wander beneath the boughs.
