Summary
Slowly, and with a disgusting amount of hesitation, he tilts his head back until he's staring at the ceiling, exposing his neck.
It's against contract to claim him, but Grian's heard the horror stories; there are those who are simply rich enough that the fine for a broken contract is merely the price of the experience of claiming an omega.
Grian can't hold back his full body shudder when he feels the man— the alpha— brush his fingers against his neck, then start fiddling with his collar. This is it. His miserably scarce luck has truly run out.
When the alpha claims Grian he will be useless. He will spend the rest of his days crammed in that cage, with no buyers on his contract— because who would want an omega claimed by someone else?
Or;
Grian knows what it means when someone buys his contract, but evidently neither Scar nor Mumbo have put it together yet.

Summary
“You want me to do what?” the civilian asked disbelievingly, and Scar’s body language shifted to that of an impatient trainer, one whose fuse was running short. It was a precursor to bad things, like being tased or forced onto a treadmill for hours; Mumbo flinched even knowing it was an act, and the civilian cut off with a squeak, so Mumbo knew he felt the same way.
Or possibly that was the gun. Scar having a gun seemed more likely as an explanation, now that Mumbo thought of it.
Stealing the car would be better, but they had no idea where they were going, and neither of them was familiar with road laws. What if they hit a person while driving? What if there was some sort of kill switch in the car that the owner could flip to blow it up with them inside? Anti-villain tech had to be wild, from what the Foundation had on hand– and they were villains now for sure. Not just for defying the Foundation, but for this. Heroes didn’t take the actions he and Scar were taking.

Summoning a vex is a complex thing to do. It requires, first of all, some understanding of evoker magic - a magic evokers don't really talk about, much less pass on to players. It also requires the knowledge of a vex's true name. So Cub is reasonably sure, after he cut his ties with the vex and the evokers years ago, evoker magic wouldn't be a problem he'd have to deal with.
That is, until Scar and Grian show up on his doorstep, absolutely reeking of the stuff.Series
